Nicoleleblanc MRS recap with lots of pictures!
We landed in Boston last night a little after midnight and today I’m back at work =(
I’ll try to keep my recap quick! (I'll throw in a few pro teasers here too!)
BM's and I had a girlie sleepover at the Marriott Friday night since we started getting ready at 7 a.m. MUA and hair we're great and on time. Dressing took a bit longer than expected but we were still off to a good start.
One of my favorite parts of the day was walking through the Marriott lobby in my gown. I remember seeing one little girl just staring at me from the steps as I walked by and her Mom whispering to her. That’s when it hit me. I was going to get married!
We hopped in the party bus (awesome investment BTW perfect space for the whole BP) I forgot about detours though. 0.05 seconds too late we passed the exit we should have taken. No big take control, redirect, get back on track. Only to forget the next detour was only minutes away. However this time Ma Dukes was on top of it and yelled so loud to take “THIS ONE!” as we came up on the exit.
10 minutes late, we finally made it to the church. From there it was a blur. We were sent right down the aisle since we were late and before you know it I was a MRS! I didn’t cry like I thought I would. But I did almost fall into a giggle fit as we were saying our vows. I was nervous as hell. Despite my best efforts I let a chuckle slip through for all to hear. MIL said she did the same on her day.
The priest also chose his own Gospel. When he started to read it DH and I looked at each other and shrugged. I honestly can’t remember what we did pick but it didn’t matter (and of course, no one noticed that the programs we a bit off).
From there we were on a race with Day Light Savings. We rushed to our first picture destination, the carousel. They ran the carousel for us a few times too. Wind started to pick up and it was FREEZING! Despite not being able to feel my limbs I think I managed pretty well.
It came time for bridal party entrance and from there the band started playing Frank Sinatra, “The Way you look tonight” DH and I walked in and went straight into our dance. Everyone loved it, we did our first underarm turn and everyone went wild, they loved the dip at the end too!
Unfortunately the dances with our parents didn’t go so well. We had those songs on CD’s since the band didn’t know them and the CD’s would not stop skipping. Eventually the band was so flustered with it they stopped and played an Elvis song for both of us to dance too. They felt horrible and wound up playing for an extra 20 minutes longer and doing a special “Sweet Caroline” crowd pleaser. All in the band was incredible. The dance floor was constantly packed and our guests couldn’t say better things.
A few cousins on DH’s side decided to did a 50/50 raffle. When the winner was called they gave us entire amount. We wound up with over $600 from that! Holy Moly! (We bought that couple something nice from HM)
I loved my dress but by the end of the night I wanted to rip it off, but not in the wedding night sexy kind of way lol. I started unlacing before the elevator even arrived. Boy that thing got heavier and heavier as the night went on!
HM was 15 days of sunshine, eating and relaxing! We bought sent 112 post cards as our thank you notes. I think we may have gotten those done in record time (and boy does that feel good!) The reception desk said we got have record for most post cards ever sent, haha!
(boy is it tough to keep this short!)
oXoXo MRS Nicoleleblanc (though I'm no longer a LeBlanc lol)
