No bridesmaids just honorary bridesmaids

This bride is having a church wedding but the groom has been married previously and doesn't want a big church wedding.  He is only have a best man and she is having a matron of honor and only honorary bridesmaids.  There will be no groomsmen.  The honorary bridesmaids are wearing similar type dresses and will walk in solo and take a seat in the church pew.  I don't think there will be any grandparents to be seated in the wedding and there will be no ushers.  When should the girls enter?  The bride's father is deceased and the mother will give her away.

We didn't have a bridal party but my best friend appointed herself 'honorary bridesmaid' (this was before I even knew it was an actual thing.)

She didn't walk the aisle, she was with the other guests, but she did all the 'bridesmaid stuff' like making a speech/a bridal shower/helping me with anything I needed.

I bought her a gift and DH thanked her in his speech like he would have a normal bridesmaid - she was basically a proper bridesmaid but without a role in the ceremony!

Thank you for your reply.  She is having 7 honorary bridesmaids.

Wow! Is there a reason why they are honorary?

The bride just stated that her fiancee didn't want a big wedding and she wants these friends to be included in her wedding but he doesn't want to have any groomsmen.

I'm not having any groomsmen or brides maids. For me it's a money issue, I don't want my friends to spend a lot or to feel pressured to. But I get the want to honor close friends, I don't see why they can't walk the aisle during the ceremony when they normally would and just sit in the pews instead of stand at the brides side.

We chose to have a small bridal party (not including the kids) so I had my MOH and one BM. I also had 3 friends do a reading before and during the ceremony. This way they participated without having to worry about the expensive of a dress etc and still, had an important part in our day.
