no test dress with 5 weeks left until the deadline I gave them!
I paid for my dress on Jan 14, 2010. With the screeching halt created by the Chinese New Year shutdown of their factory, nothing's been done with my order. I've tried to be extremely patient & understanding. After they re-opened at the end of Feb, I sent them an email in early March asking about my dress. Had reassurances from Annie that my dress will be done by end of April.
I did not email them after that 1 email in March since I didn't want to bug them. I figured the more time spent answering emails, the less time spent on my dress (or anyone else's dress for that matter). On April 5 I emailed to ask about my test dress. Within 24 hrs I received an email from Bella/Jessica asking about my absolute last "deadtime" for receiving the dress since obviously they wouldn't make their original deadline of the end of April. I gave them May 28.
My dress is custom made (not from their website). This is the dress: http://www.privatelabelbyg.com/#/main/collections/bridal/privatelabelbyg/1352 The only change I've asked is to change the neckline (from straight to a modified sweetheart neckline) and instead of a corset style at the back to have just a zipper (with buttons on top to hide the zipper).
I emailed them 9 days ago asking about my test dress and no response. The email was sent to Feng Yu (apparently the manager), "Bella" and "Jessica". Before their shutdown in Feb, I was able to get them via chat. Now, they're never on.
I'm posting this to warn other brides who are thinking of ordering from Milly. Unless they change their practises, they'll get a lot of angry brides or lost business from bad word-of-mouth!
I'm going to give them until April 26 to respond to my question about the test dress. If I still don't hear from them I am cancelling my order. My Plan B is to rent a wedding dress from a bridal shop in Oakland. I have not seen the quality of their dresses so I'll probably make an appointment to check it out this Friday. It's not the best solution but I figured that my photographer will make me look great on my wedding day (he can probably photoshop a nicer dress on me, lol).
I've been a big supporter of Milly and been telling my friends and others on PW about them. I've even tried to be patient & give them the benefit of the doubt but not getting any response after I've paid for everything months ago is bordering on ridiculous!
