No u/s on Clomid/My Chart

Is that normal?  My doctor hasn't mentioned doing an ultrasound on me... he said I should just temp and if I want to he will take bloodwork sometime at the end of my cycle to check my progesterone level to see if I o-ed.  Does that sound correct?

Also, here is my chart... I'm on CD 13 today, finished Clomid on CD 9.  I had a temp spike on to 97.6 CD 10 that I "disregarded" in Fertility Friend because it was probably just from Clomid or me temping late... but my temp was 97.3 this morning so it went back up a little after two 97.1 days.  Does this mean anything?

I wasn't monitored with u/s's on my first round of Clomid.  It's a good thing to have just so they can make sure you're not getting too many follicles or your lining isn't too thin...but some doctor's don't do it.  Especially on the lowest dose of 50 mg.  As for your chart, it doesn't look like you've O'd yet.  There is no temp shift and your CM hasn't been fertile.  Are you using OPK's?  I have read that on a Clomid cycle, you will likely O anywhere from 5-10 days after your last pill.  For you, that would be CD 14-19, though this isn't set in stone for everyone.  This cycle, I O'd 6 days after my last pill but I usually O early on a non-medicated cycle.  Definitely use OPK's on a Clomid cycle because since it dries you up, you can't necessarily rely on CM to predict when you are fertile...

My doctor doesn't monitor with u/s and I am on 150mg of Clomid, all I have done is day 22 progesterone bloodwork.

I can't really help with the chart as I don't chart but I agree with beatie, using an OPK is a great idea. My doctor had said that I shouldn’t waste my time on them as with Clomid I will O around cd 14. Well last month I O’d cd21 and missed it. This month I bought the clearblue digital OPK and it detected my O on cd18. It helped alleviate the stress that I had every month wondering what was happening. Hope it is your month!

Yeah, I have no real CM to go by thanks to Clomid, so I've been kind of ignoring that part of it!!

How many degrees is a temp spike usually?

I think FF says O is at least .2 degrees of a spike (usually it's a bit more) - but remember, you have to have THREE temps that are higher than the previous six to get confirmation that O occurred the day before that first spike...

Allie - My doctor didn't monitor me with a u/s on the first round of Clomid but thank goodness she did on the 2nd round - she knew I wasn't going to respond to Clomid just by looking at it.

You should ovulate by CD 20 if you are going to at all - I didn't ovulate on 50 or 100 mg of Clomid :/

Has your doctor mentioned putting you on Metaformin?  I have heard a lot of success of PCOS women ovulating and getting pregnant with that combo.  I am actually going to talk to my doctor about femera when I see her again, because it seems to have a greater success rate of women who don't respond to Clomid.

Ok- good to know about the u/s.  I haven't really been using the OPK this cycle, but I guess I should.  I'm just really confused on what to look for when my temps seem to be weird and CM is not really doing what it's supposed to either.

Nope- no mention of Metaformin yet.  He seems to think we should just stick to Clomid for a few months... if my AF gets wacky again, I will definitely bring it up though!! :)

Your temps don't look weird at all...there will always be ups and downs throughout your cycle but if you O, you should see a definite shift in the temp ranges.  OPK's are a must in my opinion...charting is great in retrospect in that it tells you when O occurred.  But it won't predict it for you.  Unless you want to just DTD every other day and hope you cover your bases that way, you'll need a bit of a heads up that O is coming...

Also, I noticed that your discarded higher temp is on a Sunday.  Do you maybe drink any alcohol on Saturday?  If so, that too could have caused a random higher temp...I've noticed that sometimes even one drink will affect it the next day.  Especially on Clomid...

I agree beatie... Even if I have one drink I can be sure the next day will be a high temp.... But sometimes I just need that glass of wine, and I figure if it's red wine I'm only helping my body get the antioxidants it needs... Hehe! During the 2ww I hate not having my glass of wine (although I think sometimes it really wouldn't hurt??).

Allie, your temps look great for your follicular phase... No need to worry! Hope u get that big O soon!

You know what, I did have one drink at dinner, a Grey Goose and Sprite, but that was with a HEFTY meal.  Even so, I don't really EVER drink so I certainly felt it... lightweight!! :) Kylie had a sleepover and DH forced my shoe-throwing (yes, I threw my shoes at the wall... ha ha ha), cranky, Clomid-taking ass to get dressed and he took me out for dinner and ice cream!!  Poor guy! LOL

Maybe I'll break out the CBE OPK and hope for a smiley... I did one regular, pink line OPK the morning I had that high temp and it was negative.

Haha... I'm cracking up right now!!!!  Cranky was my middle name one to two weeks ago!  Oh, our poor DH's... I'm glad they can put up with this stuff!  I warned mine, although no amount of his niceness would've helped his situation back then... (I apologized and gave some good back massages to smooth things over after I came back to reality) :)
