Norcal girls

Im interested in fostering a dog while a peramenet home is being found. Has anyone done this?? Where can I sign up?? Fi is going to FL for job training, he will be gone for 3 weeks. He has told me serveral times that we cannot have a dog yet, although I want a weimaraner. So, I have decided to forster one...and I know he will change his mind.

The last time he went out of town, he was only gone for 5 days...I don't do well in a house alone. I just don't feel safe here...even with a gun in the house.

Hmmm... I'd start with asking the local shelters.  FI have thought of this as well, but I think we'd end up with 100 dogs!!  Hahaha

Try google searching for dog rescues near where you live. Most shelters don't do foster. Also rescues will be able to give you a background on their dogs... like if they do well with cats, other dogs, or children. Also they will know if they are potty trained. Your FI prob wont be convinced if he comes home and there are potty stains on your carpet. Be prepared for a background check on you and your home. They usually will come and check out your place. Good luck! Yay for taking in foster dogs! There are so many out there that need love!!

Then you may think of getting a small dog or medium sized. We have a toy poodle because it is way easier to travel with her. Also, finding a friend to babysit a small dog is sooo much easier! The cost of grooming and spaying is less as well. They are still good watch dogs and will alert you if they hear anything in the house. He may be overwhelmed with the thought of a big dog! Weimaraners are extremely high energy. He may be put off by that.
