not sending out thank yous????

ok i feel like such an ass..

but i dont know what to do..

i really wanted to use a photo for our thank you cards and it took a few weeks to get all the photos back.. i finally was able to work on it and i uploaded it online and ordered them they should have been here by april 16 (we were married on march 13th) well they made a mistake and they said they would be here april 28th.. well i look at my bank account just now and they credited me back my payment so i'm assuming im not getting them and now its may 1st.. i feel so bad because i havent sent out any thankyou's to our guests..

question..

is it too late to send now??

do you think they will notice if i dont send anything??

You should still send out thank yous- never too late! My fmil always yammers on aboutpeople who dont. I think any thank you would be nice, but you can still send the photo ones if you get them soon! Hope they come anyway! :)

Better late than never. Believe me, people will notice if they don't get something and they will talk about it for years! I hear people complain about never having received a thank you card all the time. It's not that late either.

I just got a thank you note from my cousin who got married...7 MONTHS AGO! You're fine.  I actually laughed outloud when I opened it. ;-)

I think that ettiquitte-wise, you have a year (according to Emily Post).  Practicality wise, it's nice to send them much sooner!   If you're dead set on the photo ones, find out how much longer (for SURE) they are going to take, and wait for them (assuming it is soonish).  Once people see the TY notes, they'll know why the delay.

I had a similar thing happen to me. It took us a long time to get our thank you cards back, and by that time it was like 3 or 4 months later. I still sent them out. Better late than never!

you need to send them - late or not - and i don't think they are actually that late. most of the wedding thank you cards i've received have been 2 - 3 months or longer after the occasion.

if you don't send them, in addition to people thinking you are rude, some guests may worry that you never received the gift. i know on one occasion where i didn't receive the thank you card for six months, i was really worried the bride and groom never got the gift.

According to Emily Post, it is completely proper to send thank yous for wedding gifts up to three months after the wedding- of course, if you do not get them out in that period, you should still send thank you notes- but you are totally in the grace period still.

If you don't send thank yous, people will worry if you got the gift or not at all- that happened to me- FI ordered a present from a registry for a friend's wedding (I had to trust him to do it, since he is the one with the job!!), and when we did not get a thank you, I grilled him over whether he actually ordered it or if he lied to me about it. then I worried that maybe it had not been delivered- I didn't know what to do- do I ask if she got the gift? do I send a new gift? Then, 5 months later, I got a thank you....Not good. Don't put your guests in that position...

I would contact the company you ordered them from and find out what is going on.  They might even express ship you a new order because of the mess up from earlier.  It's totally worth asking about, plus you need to know if they are coming or not!

And, I couldn't agree with everyone else more... We were "stiffed" on a thank you, and it's been almost a year, and I still grumble about it to FI...
