not sure.....Nuva ring-preg?

So I have been on the Ring for over a year. I feel as if it's great. I highly recommend it and have no problems with it whatsoever.
Lately my periods have been really wacky, they are usually right on time, I take the ring out on sunday, I have it by Thurs. the latest. The wacky part is how long it stays. It really varies and never can tell if it will be 2 days of 8 days. I have been fairly regular up until July. Then since it's been weird.
Now I should have AF now, however it's no where insight. I have my normal choc. cravings but no bloating feeling or anything like that.
I had a doc appointment the other day and I weighed in a bit more then I had expected considering I weigh myself a few times a month. I had just recently weighed myself and it was about 7 pounds more at the doctors. Within a week or two. That is very bad, and very upsetting. Considering I didn't even binnge on any thing. I have been eating like usual for me. I wouldn't say healthy but it's nothing different then normal for me.

I was wondering, can you get pregant just a few days before your period? (saying you're trying to or just not on bc or if the bc fails)..

We want a baby, I know now is not exactally the right time but I'd be happier then ever if it were to happen.. I was told about 8 yrs ago that I couldn't have a baby without any help. I have pcos, I know alot of your ladies are going through that now. So, It scares me to even "prevent" having baby knowing it may be difficult when we are trying..

Thank you ladies.

EDIT: AF (showed up) just likes tricking me and making my mind spin... I'd still appricatie any input on the question. Thanks.

From a strictly technical perspective, you don't get pregnant right before your period.  Ovulation occurs usually 14-16 days before the first day of your period in a normal cycle.  (If it's less than 10 or so days from O to AF, you are considered to have a luteal phase defect.)  If you have sex right before (the day or days before) or day of ovulation, then you can get pregnant.  But implantation doesn't occur until 7-14 days after ovulation, so that part doesn't happen until pretty soon before AF, but the sex that makes you pregnant happens a couple weeks before.

Now, the part of your cycle from AF to O can vary a lot from girl to girl and even from month to month in the same girl.  But since you are on a hormone birth control, you shouldn't have the hormone variations that cause your cycle length to vary, and you won't ovulate (that's part of how BC works).  So unless your BC fails, and you ovulate, then you won't get pregnant.  Usually this is caused by misuse (like the ring falls out and is out for too long or something) or can be caused by certain antibiotics.

Thank you meanyprice- I thought it wasn't too likely to get preg closer to AF.... I remember the hole 2 weeks before and what you mentioned. I guess I wanted reansurence. I kinda went blank, but as you mention it I remember now.

The ring hasn't fallen out yet thank goodness. and I am 99%sure I'm using it correctly.. (not hard I don't think).. It's just weird how AF just shifted and comes when she wants to, but for almost a year she was right on track. Wed to Sunday. every month. But now it's whenever (the week I take it out) to whenever.. even after it's back in.

I was also thinking about the antibiotic part.. I watch alot of "didn't know i was preg" and it makes me wonder sometimes.. as I don't take any right now, I should be, but hoping to have some pain killers in a few weeks or so once the doctor thing gets better.. I take alot of Advil. From what I read, advil won't affect it. But I take alot. so I wonder about that sometimes..

Alright--thanks again! :-D

Advil shouldn't affect it, and only certain antibiotics do, they just tell you that about all of them.  I think the only way you can not use the ring correctly is not put it in, or wait to long to put it back in if it falls out.
