NWR: Cleanse

Has anyone here ever done a cleanse?  I am thinking about cleansing and perhaps later doing a liver cleanse....this is the product I saw at the natural market.  Just wanted to know if anyone has tried this product or anything like it.

I'm honestly not a huge fan of cleanses because your body should be able to do that itself if you eat healthy and exercise. Just working in the health industry I see a lot of people want to do a cleanse for a quick fix of something. Not sure what you're looking for, but that's just my opinion. Good luck :)

I have done cleanses before and like Else said, usually they were for quick fixes. However, I did a juice cleanse after I had done some research on it. I had headaches just about every day, they wuld last for weeks and then I would get a week or so off before they got better. I started the juice cleanse and did it for a week. I also made other major lifestyle changes. I cut out processed foods and I also try to buy all organic when possible. I started this in January and I am headache free. After doing a juice cleanse,  realized how bad for me the others were. I didn't have a hardtime juicing either and I had some of my best workouts since my body was getting the right fuel. For me it wasn't about losing weight, it was about getting away from toxins. DH and I love our juicer and fresh juice, we make juice for snack or breakfast often now. Every now and then I will juice cleanse again when I feel myself getting impulsive in my food choices.

Thanks Nicole, I don't need the cleanse for weight loss...I will look into the juice cleanses as well...I already can't eat so much due to the candida..i.e., specific foods you can and cannot have)...I just need to now cleanse as well...This candida is no joke, a lot of people have problems with it and don't even know it.

Honestly, it all started when I watched a documentary, Fat Sick and Nearly Dead (it's on Netflix and Amazon Instant). After watching it DH and I started some research on nutritarian lifestyle. If you're interested check out http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/ for juicing and Dr. Fuhrman for nutritarian. I hope this helps!

I agree with Nikki, it's all about focusing on cutting processed foods. Not so much a clenase. Sorry, I still hate that word!!! lol.

I found an article here: "Not surprisingly, many people note improvement in various symptoms when following this diet. If you stop eating sugar and white flour, you'll generally wind up cutting out most processed foods, which tend to be high in calorie content and low in nutritive value. Within a few weeks of replacing processed foods with fresh ones and white flour with whole grains, you may start to feel better in general. That, rather than stopping the growth of yeast in the gastrointestinal tract, is the main benefit of a candida cleanse diet."http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/candida-cleanse/AN01679

I don't eat processed foods now and sugars due to the candida diet now. I know that changing the way I eat now changes the GI Tract however my natural doctor has recommended a cleanse therefore that's why I'm looking into them before I visit her to show her what I researched.

i have never tried that cleanse.  the one i did had pills and a tea you drink.  it was a cleanse and it also removed parasites.  i have actually done that cleanse a few times.  i use to do a cleanse once a year, but havent in last few years.  i would ask your natural dr which cleanses she recommends.  there are so many products on the market it would help to only had to research a few.  good luck.
