NWR: How Do You Motivate Yourself To Workout?

I have to admit that I've been slacking since right after Christmas and I got on my scale last week and I gained about 8 lbs.  I swore to DH that I will be working out 4 times a week doing cardio and then every day on my Wii Fit yoga program.


I took a picture of me in my robe from our wedding day and put it up on my desk and that is going to hopefully motivate me to lose those pounds put on and even more since I am not happy with myself right now. 


What are you doing to motivate yourself?

I work at the gym as a Pilates Instructor so for me it's hard sometimes to want to stay longer to do my own workout or to do cardio on the machines...when I'm off I dash out of there! lol


So I have now started to do cardio at the same gym I'm employed by but closer to my house away from my co-workers and clients (that way they won't talk me to death) ;)That way I can do my mat exercises at the other gym and nobody bothers me.


I have also started to do the Jillian Michaels DVDs at home...just looking at all the lovely brides on PW and constant motivation from FI to keep going helps me.  I really want my arms to look great by the wedding!

It sucks getting back into the groove, but once you do its hard to start.

I work out 2x a day most days (at least 5 days a week) and working out right when I wake up, at home, and choosing a different DVD / routine each day helps motivate me.   


Netflix has lots of workout videos you can instantly stream and having that variety is SO helpful to me!

I just started working out again.  I go to the gym but I just started with the Jillian Michaels workout with abs and on my goodness I can't even walk.  LOL.  I have the shred one also which I did today which I thought wasn't near as tough as the abs one.  Anyways, my brother is getting married so I'm hoping to be down 10 lbs yet.

The worst part for me too is that I work at home and sit at my computer all day, so I think I will try working out as soon as I get up.  Thanks Lorienne!!! This might just work best.

A lot of different things do, to be honest :)


1) FI, he is my partner in crime!! We both have lost a lot of weight, and we motivate each other in the morning when one of us doesn't want to get up ;)


2) Pictures of me, looking in the mirror, I'm not happy with my weight at ALL and I want to feel beautiful on my wedding day!! I'm a lot happier since I've lost so much, but I still have a long way to go!

I just look at myself in the mirror and try on a pair of jeans that are too small. FI is great at motivating me too.

Well, Since July I've lost 45lbs, and every time I look back at a pic of me from then, it re-motivates me!  Also, since I've been working out regularly for that long, I miss it when I don't go.  Not to mention, I always feel great afterwards :)

FI is trying to lose weight also so that really helps.  We also signed up for a 10 mile race and are using a training program.  I would prefer to cross the finish line feeling strong and not like death, so thats good motivation to make sure i get all the  training runs in.

Hmm.. FI helps a lot bc he is really into working out, but I actually like working out! I feel relaxed after I run a few miles :)


Other than that, if I'm having a bad day, all I do is picture my skinny self in my wedding gown ;)
