NWR - job search vent

i had an interview at 1:30 this afternoon for a temporary personal assistant job.  even though it's waaaaaay less than i was making, it's better than not working at all and the position ended 1 week before my wedding in november.

i get there 15 minutes early (as usual) and see a note on the door that says, go around to the side and go through the gate door.  i pop my head in and the 2 women interviewing are still with the person before me.  very rudely they tell me to give them a few more minutes.  i get all embarassed and go wait on the street.

i waited until 2:00 before i left.  i stood on their sidewalk for 45 minutes (85 degrees outside in a suit) and listened to them laugh.  i can't believe they didn't have the courtesy to stick their head out and say, sorry we're running late.

i need a job but not that badly.

argh.

man...that blows!  you're right...you don't need that...imagine what it would be like working with them....people usually try to put their best foot forward at an interview, whether they are the interviewer or interviewee....i say adios!

i know!  if i would have been waiting inside their house it would have been a lot better.  i was on a street corner in a suit sweating my butt off!  it's hot in the valley today.

I'm really sorry. That sucks! You don't need that Sh** though. Something else better will come along. Are you looking for a particular field or anything right now?

My girlfriend took a person assistant job from a temp agency 2 years ago because she didn't want anything too serious since they were going to try and have babies, and she is still there. She loves it. The people she works for are kinda cooky and have way more $$$$ then they know what to do with, but it works for her. Not to mention she gets free gifts all the time (ie. designer purses, gym memberships, make up)

Keep up the search! Something will come along

aww - i love texas.  my friend ish was from levelland and i have a friend that lives in allen.

at this point, i'm willing to take anything.  i'm in advertising and have interviewed with a couple agencies in the past few weeks.  i'm still up for the job i really want and should know by friday.  i can't assume i'm getting it so i'm still putting myself out there.

i wouldn't mind being a personal assistant but it would have to be for someone that is respectful of my time too.  those women were just rude.

thank God for my FI.  he's the one that really pushed me to quit my last job.  i was miserable and it was ruining my personal life.

I work in West LA. Off Olympic and Sawtelle. I can see the 405 from my office. Not too bad of a commute, right?
