NWR: NEVER TRUST A CONTRACTOR

Notice to all who are thinking about hiring a general contractor to renovate your house:

-never EVER trust them with a set of keys

-never let them bring in employees who they hardly know

-NEVER LEAVE OUT ANYTHING VALUABLE

-photograph and fingerprint everyone who works on your place (ok, maybe this is a bit extreme.... but you know what I mean)

And one final thing:

Goodbye to the following:
Canon Rebel T1i
Wide angle lens
Portable GPS
Chequebooks
Nintendo Wii
and whatever else I haven't noticed yet.....(pout+sob)

Thats horrible. I used to be an insurance agent, so my advice would be to file a police report. If you put it on your homeowners, your policy premium will go up thte following year. Even though its not a large claim, a claim is a claim none the less. The company WILL reimburse you to avoid the court fees. Even if they dont, they person will get arrested. Then you have proof to your insurance company that a company/person that wont pay is liable. That way your insurance company can pay you as a "no fault" claim where you wont get points for a claim.

Good luck!

when I made the police report she said that the likelihood of finding the stuff is very poor, and unless someone admits to taking it they won't take any further steps....
The stuff is gone, and I'm sad that I have to save up for a bit to buy a new camera and stuff..... I don't exactly have a few thousand dollars lying around!
