NWR: so I'm turning 30 in a month...

What do you ladies think I should do? I'm not much of a partier and I don't drink, so other suggestions welcome. :)

Yay!  I'm turning 30 as well (in November).  I actually like going out at partying, but it's a little too close to my bachelorette party for me to expect my friends to shell out the big bucks for a big blowout "dirty 30"-type thing.  I am planning on going to brunch with all my friends, possibly out to a fancy dim sum place.    Other than dim sum, I was also considering one of the dozens of champagne buffet brunches that are all over San Francisco or Wine Country.

Ohhh a kayaking trip sounds fun!! DH turns 30 before me (next year) I'm pretty sure I'm going to plan a cookout at our place with some of our closest friends and family. We went to a 30th this year that was a beer tasting theme. DH loved it! So I was thinking of having a "soda tasting party" DH doesn't drink, but he loves different kinds of sodas (like local brew cream soda...yum!)

DH is so unbelievably laid-back, it was very hard deciding on something for his 30th last year! He drinks but doesn't really like to go out and party, plus all of his friends are somehow much older than he is (I joke and say he's an old man at heart!) So I very sneakily got all his friend's numbers out of his phone and called them to arrange a surprise dinner, I told DH my Dad and I wanted to take him out to eat at this new Italian place he had been eyeing...and then all his friends were already seated at a table when we walked in!

It was a fun surprise but was mellow and low-key. The tough part will be when I turn 30 in two years...I really want to party but I don't plan to plan my own so it will be interesting to see if DH comes up with anything :)

Well my FI is sort of scared of boats so it would be hard convincing him. But I love it and it would be fun. At the very least we will go have dinner at my favorite restaurant and it will be nice. :)
