NWR: We won a trip to Florida!

FH won a three day, two night hotel stay in Florida. Then I won two roundtrip tickets to anywhere Southwest flies! Talk about good luck! We haven't been to FL before so we're not sure where to go. The hotel stay can be used in different cities and we're not sure what hotels/resorts are participating yet. We need help!

1. What's the best time of year to visit Florida?

2. Should we go to Orlando, Miami, Key West, or Fort Lauderdale?

3. What kinds of things can we do there?

We don't want to do the whole Disney World/Universal thing bc you need more time for those. We kind of want to relax but get out and do something. We might go ahead and pay for one more night to get a longer stay. Can't wait to hear the suggestions!

I vote for Key West! June is their rainy month so I would avoid it then. But Key West is like being in the Bahamas - beautiful, turquoise waters and amaaaaaaazing resorts :)

Wow, congratulations! That's fabulous luck!

Haven't been to Florida since I was a kid, and we stayed in Kissimee and did the whole Disney thing.

We're hoping to go to St Pete's in August for a family wedding, I've heard it's gorgeous there!

Come Now, June starts the raining season. Miami for a nice, party town, key west, casual place lots of bars, snorkeling, not good beaches for swimming. I would go to key west if you want a Caribbean feel, Miami for city, nightlife, good beaches, too.

Are you guys lucky or what!!!!!

Any time is a good time to fly to FL....

about your choices...if you said you can go where Southwest flies...why not Ft.Myers/Naples, is not a big city but nice, people who I know said is expensive but is relatively that were I go to celebrate  my wedding.  I love the place, you can go to Marco Island, The Everglades, Sanibel Island, Cape Coral going up to St. Petersburg and then Tampa. beach beach beach

I like Key West, but by the end of July-August is HUMID!!!

Miami - because of the cuban food, beaches and latin dances, calle 8.

Ft. Lauderdale - is a couple of miles away from Miami/ beach beach beach

West Palm Beach - same concept as Naples but in the East Coast. beach beach beach

you are so lucky!  i'm from Tampa & would say that if you just want a beach vacation to go to the gulf coast beaches (tampa, st. pete, clearwater...you'll enjoy them more).

BUT...since you've never been to FL, you have do to go to Orlando.  there's no place like it in the world.  maybe save a little $$ & do disney one day, etc.  there's plenty to do around there that will make you feel like you've had a full vacation!
