odd decorating question...

So, I love my reception site. It's an old Catholic church that's been transformed into a reception hall. Surrounded by trees and a huge yard, it's got that old country church feel, which works nicely with my rustic nature theme. The main eyesore of the building, however, is the entryway, which has two huge, ugly metal coatracks on wheels. Moving them doesn't seem to be an option because they're too big and there's no place to put them, but they won't be used for hanging coats since I'll be getting married in the summer. Any ideas for dressing the area up?

could you take the hangers off, drape some fabric over it, and set up your guest book in front of it?

Maybe drape some fabric over it, and hang some pictures on it?  Or, drape fabric and hang ribbons....then the guests could write wishes for the two of you and pin the wishes on the ribbon.

Great ideas girls!

I also just thought- maybe to hang those pomodoro balls (sp?) or even using the 'hanging' concept with the placecards- great opportunity to use it for that...  Along with a simple drape to cover some of the pole!  (Like wrap around teh top and hang off the sides? The pole itself doesn't seem ugly or anything- just need to 'spruse' it up and get rid of the hangers!

Yes, hanging ribbons for each table with the namecards pin to them with some beautiful fabric as a backdrop! Beautiful idea HMM!
