On not having kids and having no life timelines...

I know babies are a big thing for many of us PW ladies, but for plenty of ladies, babies are not ever on the radar.

And that's okay!

There was just a line in this article that said, "how about you do you, I do me, everything's okay..." and it just made me think of you ladies, and how much we celebrate our differences here on PW.

Also, Cameron Diaz talking about not putting timelines on her life anymore.  I heart that statement so much.  Brilliant.

DH's aunt, I heard through the grapevine, was asking about DH and I having kids, as well as a coworker of his.  DH of course in his smart a$$ way (lol), tells his coworker that we don't want kids or it would not fit with our hectic schedules and so on, but did not tell her that we could NOT have them.  I had precancer and had to get surgery and treatment, and my mom's side of the family has a horrible time with fertility, so it is just not in the cards for us and that is okay. It is very strange to see people's faces when we say we do not have kids or are we ever going to.  We will be parents to a kitten in a few months.

LOVE that article!!! Thank you for posting it - might have to send it to DH's aunt and mother.  LOL

After the day I've had I wish I'd read that article 4.5 yrs ago!!!!

I don't understand why it's such a big deal for someone not to have kids, I have several friends that have never wanted children and they have wonderful lives (that yes I admit I am very jealous of when I am stuck at home trying to get my boys to sleep and they are posting pictures of themselves on vacation in Dubai!!).

I never thought I would get around to having any, I was too busy having fun & travelling but one day I changed my mind! I have no doubt that I would have been just as happy with my life without kids as I am now with them - I'd just look less exhausted and would have more shoes!!!!

There are so many people I want to send this article to right now!

I actually just had a nightmare last night that I was 20 weeks pregnant (random, I know)! I was so upset because I had so much I wanted to do, and I kept saying, "Now we're not going to get to Italy next summer!" I was really angry! (And so relieved when I woke up!)

Omg, Lauren, that's a very specific (20 weeks!?) dream you had! Those are the scariest dreams though, arent they!!? That is so true that to each their own and it's annoying for people to try to pry into each others lives regarding that sort of thing! I'm still young and still not married so luckily I haven't really gotten much of that. Yet! Thanks for sharing.
