One thing I am nervous about...

Ok sooo i know we are supposed to make sure we cook so that we can win our mans heart through his stomach (lol) but i never really had to cook THAT much when i was younger.. i mean i cooked here and there but i am not really confident in my cooking to be cooking so often but i guess practice makes perfect! im happy FI can cook but i font want him to do all the cooking. im going to keep on practicing so that i can feel more confident..

any of you ladies have the same issue or something different that you are nervous about when it comes to responsibilities as a wife?

Before I was with hubby the contents of my fridge basically made nachos, with ice cream and vodka in the freezer! I slowly got into cooking - starting with easier things like fajitas (making my own seasoning instead of a packet), and then things like paella and jambalaya (anything that involved throwing different ingredients in to rice!!) and then bought a Rachael Ray 30 minute meals book and never looked back!!

I absolutely love cooking now, Jamie Oliver recipes are amazing and I can now make my own recipes! There are so many recipes available on the Internet, think of something you'd like to try making and then search for 'easy .......... ' - somebody out there will have posted an easy to follow/make recipe for pretty much every meal you can think of.

Just ask your FI what products and dishes he likes.  Then search easy recipies on the internet, do not go for something difficult straight away.

Moolticooker is a great help btw.

I liked to cook from time to time, but with my FI I have to cook almost every day: some meat, a soup, and something for dessert. I cook much faster now, know a lot of recipies and like to try something new.

It is not difficult at all, if you do it for a man you love.

I was nervous about having to cook all the time but I actually love it. I really love to bake more than cook but as the ladies said there are so many recipes online that you can try. I love to get on pinterest because they have so many recipes from dinner recipes, to appetizers, cocktail drinks to desserts. I even have a board on there where I've posted the recipes I've tried. If your not on there yet, sign up you would be amazed at how easy the recipes are and you can meal plan weekly very easily.

my mom made sure all of us kids could cook, clean, and do laundry.  we had never lived together, so that was what i had to learn.  to live with him.

as for cooking, try watching the food network and find a chef you really like.  then get their cookbook.  some of them do some basic cooking.  i would also recommend that if there is a cooking class you can do for a night or two, then do it as a couple to learn to cook.  cooking together is really great.

My finace and I don't like together be he's cooked for me more than I've cooked for him! He LOVES to cook. I'm more of a baker myself! But I have cooked a couple meals for him before. Mostly recipes I find on pinterest! It's a good source for finding easy, quick and yummy meals!

I don't cook and I've been married for 2 years! Ok, I cook...but I am the follow the recipe exactly word for word kind of cooking. I'm a lucky lady though, he gets home before me and he likes to cook. I've mostly gotten really good at a few dishes, stir-fry's are my favorites an  easiest. Toss some oil in the pan, cut of some veggies (pepper, onion, muchroom) throw in some spinach and some seasoning, add a protein and toss over some rice or quinoa (or just eat as is) bon appetite! ;)

I've also gotten really good at soups and crock pot dishes.

Our goal is took cook enough so that it lasts a few meals. Sometimes I'll cook a few things at once so we can reheat it during the week.

I learned to cook at an early age but I prefer to bake.I agree with Canooknic. Watch or purchase Rachel Ray her recipes are easy and taste good. A crockpot is your best friend you can throw some meat in there with veggies throw some in some liquid, (beer, wine, water, broth) turn it on and forget it for a few hours and end up with a great meal.

Aw we ladies thanks so much for your advice. I do plan on using Pinterest, YouTube and google to search for simple dishes to start off with. I noticed he's more into his native dishes so I know he will help me with perfecting those.  I'm excited now!! :-)

Well since we already live together and have three kids I have to cook lol. I was not always that great trust me. I really just practiced and made things we like to eat and I sort of tweak them to our tastes. As long as you enjoy doing it it will be good. :) Good luck!
