Zumba and Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred has really been working for me! Try taking the stairs instead of elevators. Park further away at stores. Drink more water. Don't over eat.

Even little steps really help!

Cut out as many processed foods as you can.  Eating whole foods will help you lose weight safely and you will FEEL amazing! Just recomending it because it worked for a lot of people I know!

Ditto DansMrs. I also started making fresh juices and switching it out for meals once a day, usually breakfast.

I'm so into this type of topic. Believe me you can do it, you have to commit yourself to doing workouts at least 4 to 6 days per week to really start seeing changes. Plus you have to change your eating habit, its like honeybunch1239 stated, you have to cut the processed foods, also cutting out a lot of the sugar. I've lost over 15 pounds and I have been doing the Jillian Michael and P90X cd's and I also mix it up with the gym and biking so find what you enjoy. And don't forget to eat, you have to eat but you have to make better choices with the eating and try to eat 3 times a day or 5 smaller meals throughout the day. I snack on nuts and dried fruits and I stopped eating at fast food and have had to relax a bit on the cakes and cupcakes (I have a sweet tooth). Yes, and don't forget to find tapes that incorporate strength training, anything that allows you to do some toning.

Regarding the 3 year old, I watch my nephew for my sister some times and I have him join in on the exercise tapes, I create a little area for him and he actually tries to do the work outs. I also provide him with lots of water, juice and snacks to keep him occupied, he takes breaks when I take my water break. So you can do it!

I'm actually a Zumba instructor but even at that it works on the cardio but I think my body's gotten used to it! I use yoga as a way to tone my muscles plus stretching your muscles helps keep them active all day! Congrats on your big day and there's nothing more beautiful on a woman other than a smile and confidence! :-D

Walk an hour a day helps to speed up your metabolism.  DRINK WATER>  Stop eatting out and start cooking in.  Eliminate extra salt and sugars from your diet.

I lost 37 pounds from November to March and I didn't cut out any of my bad foods! I was watching Dr. Phil one day and he was talking about weight loss and he said that it takes 30 minutes to get from your stomach to your brain that you are full, so try to chew up your food really well (something like 100 chews per mouth full) and drink plenty of fluids. I did this and I noticed that I went from eating a Double Quarter Pounder at McDonald's to a Kid's Meal and not able to finish it all. I tried dieting, but I could never stick to it, because I felt like I was depriving myself of something! I love SWEETS! This worked for me and I noticed that I had more energy throughout the day!!!

Wow I wish I could lose that much weight just by eating slow! I actually did try this once and it didn't work too well for me. Probably has something to do with metabolism...

Remove 80% of the sugar from your diet and you'll lose weight far more easily.  :)

I got rid of carbs a month before the wedding it really made a difference and working out every day made a huge difference. Even if you cant get to a gym get some 5 to 8 lb weights and a jump rope and just work out in your living room

I posted this in another topic and thought it would be helpful here

I would also like to mention for those of you who are dieting, I used to eat 700-800 calories a day, sometimes less. When they say your body goes into starvation mode if you eat less than 1000 calories.... It's TRUE! I have found that eating more nutrient packed foods along with exercise every other day has provided me with a toner body, better skin/hair and more energy!

Some key things to remember:
Low fat, high protein and fiber
No empty calories!
If your goal is weight loss watch the dairy, pastas, breads, and granolas
Choose lean meats (fish chicken and turkey)
Carbs are not bad! They give you the energy you need to exercise.
Have realistic goals in mind.
Have ONE cheat meal per WEEK
A goal with out a plan is just a goal....

Good luck! Stick to your plan!

I replaced one meal with a green smoothie.. its helped me meet my fruit and veggie goal for the day and it usually is only about 300-400 calories for 30 or oz!

Just know you can do it, I went from 166 to 146 a few weeks ago and now the scale is hitting 141, my goal weight was 140lbs....now I just have to maintain until the wedding. Mind you, I have not worked out in over 2 weeks since my bike accident, I've just been watching what I have been eating but I eat and eveyrone here has some great advice, you just have to cut back, do a little exercise and get real focused.
