Opinions Needed: Beadboard backsplash color

I recently finished up my big cabinet painting project and decided to put up a beadboard backsplash as a somewhat temporary solution until I can decide on countertops and a tile backsplash eventually. I'm in no rush to do any more work in there, so it'll be a while before we move on to the next phase of re-do.

This was before starting the backsplash:

I've got all the beadboard and trim up, just need to caulk and paint (this pic is before trim, while glue was drying... just to give you a general idea of what it looks like)

I recently finished up photo 3193406-2 Try and imagine it without the sickly green cast from the bad photography :/ (and in the same warm white as the upper cabinets)

My question is, do you think it'll be too much white? Should I use the gray of the lower cabs for the backsplash? There is a lot of gray and white in the countertop, though it's hard to see in pics, so either one would go for now. I'm leaning toward white right now, but it runs the risk of being VERY stark in there. Thoughts?

When I first looked at this pictue I thought LIGHT GRAY... then i continued to read further..... and that is one of the options. I would go gray to break up the white, but make it a light gray so it doesn't "stick out like a sore thumb"(lol).. I am thinking like a top value on the paint cards.  What color is the floor?? It is hard to see. That may give you another color to choose from. I Love the slight teal accents you have, like the dutch oven and vase. I like neutrual backdrops with slight pops of color.

I'm thinking a slightly darker, warm gray.  That is unless you like color.  I just saw a house with dark brown cabinets and turquoise blacksplash.  I wouldn't personally do it, but I admired that they weren't afraid, and it did look good.
