Order of Ceremony.................

I NEED SOME HELP!!!!   Can somone please assist me with the order of service?  When is the aisle runner unrolled & when does the jumping of the broom come into play?  Am I missing anything?  Should something be changed or switched?  Here is "MY" order of ceremony:

  • Prelude
Seating of the Grandparents/Parents (mothers light "their" untiy candle)

  • Bridal Processional
Minister, Groom & Best Man usually enter from stage right (& Groomsmen if they are not escorting Bridesmaids or Matron of Honor).  Bridesmaids enter, usually down the center aisle, one at a time.  Maid/Matron of Honor enters.

  • ***Broom Carrier?????

  • Ring Bearer & Jr. Groomsman enter. MUSIC STOPS

  • Town Crier/Bell Ringer enters.  MUSIC BEGINS

  • Bride March  The Bride enters. Typically the Bride's mother will stand as a signal for all of the guests to stand. Sometimes the Minister will announce, "All rise for the Bride."

  • Opening Remarks

  • The Opening Prayer

  • Giving Away of the Bride (Who presents this woman and this man to be married to each other?)

  • Scripture, Worship Song, Hymn or Solo

  • Charge to Bride and Groom

  • The Pledge

  • Wedding Vows

  • Exchanging of the Rings

  • Lighting of the Unity Candle

  • The Pronouncement

  • The Closing Prayer

  • The Kiss

  • Recessional

Good questions..I need help as well

Normally the broom jumping is done right after the kiss, right before the recessional..not sure when its carried out by the broom carrier though..

And the aisle runner, I think can be done right before/after the town crier..

Hopefully some other ladies, can help us out with more info...

I've only been to one wedding where the couple jumped the room. After the kiss, the officiant briefly talked about the symbolism of jumping the broom. Then he gave the broom to the maid of honor and she placed it in front of the couple and then they jumped.  IMO it isn't necessary to have the broom carried down the aisle.

so I thought the aisle runner comes in before the flower girl...since the petals usually go on it. And I thought the broom carrier comes after the ring bearer. Most traditional weddings that I have been to do it that way.

Are you having some one lay down the aisle runner? or you can have aisle runner put in place when you do your set up and the entrance to it draped off so that no one walks down it. Might be easier and less stressful to do that.
