Hi Nicole!

Honestly since I don't live in the country, I am not sure what would and wouldn't be harmonious together. What doesn't seem harmonious to you, tell me why and maybe I can give some direction. Are these all being served together or seperately as dishes? Is your 1st course and 4th course two different kinds of meats that guest can choose from or are both being served?

I can't speak for anyone else but I'm hungry. It all blends well together and you and FI made great gourmet choices. Your guest will love it!

all five courses will be served one after the other.

so the first one will will buck and duck paté.

second is a kind of river fish of the region

third is another fish type with vegetables

fourth is a special type of beef

and then the desert

I thought a champagne- pumpkin soup instead of course four might be nice between the fish of course two and the beff of course four but alex thinks italians dont like soup. he is pretty conviced of it. but i think it is more men who dont fancy soup ;-))

The soup sounds like a great idea, but I agree I don't see a lot of men
eating soup unless they are sick. Is there anything else you can serve instead of the sotup?

Lol @Alex. My hubby loves soup and he will eat just about any kind too! Since the second course is a fish and the third course is a fish with vegetables, I would probably want to put something in between to break it up like you want to do. Did the two of you try these courses in this order? How did they taste one after the other?

Is there some sort of salad that could be served in between?

the salad is a very good idea I think. or we could try to ask if instead of the desert (having three types of cake we might not need one ,we could have another salty course in between to spilt fish from meat. I love soup. alex eats a lot really: gulash soup, green bean soup, chicken soup.... i just call it stew and he is happy :-)))) in reality he eats soups. he just does not know it.

WOW - even not being from your country I have gotten to eat a few of those items and the duck is one of my favs.

I would opt for a sorbet for a break between the courses

Although in your country Sorbet for a pallette cleanser may not be appropraite.

Umm...I'm Italian and I thought we ate lots of soup? Maybe it's just my family haha.  And I say if you guys liked everything then go for it! If people don't like one course it's not going to be the end of the world. I'm sure it will be lovely, and it certainly sounds delicious!

That all sounds divine!! I might agree about something to break up the fish but I think you would be fine keeping them together if you can't come up with something. You are making me hungry :)

actually alex is italian and i am german, we get married in germany, berlin. the hotel offers regional food.

@ idoagain really the champagne soup comes with pumpkin sorbet. the idea would be perfect. in the end  i think we will have everything decided and offer the guests the choice only in that course....

:-))

i am so happy, after all, our day is coming along. after such a long time
