I'm now a MRS! Waaaaaaaaaaaa!
I'm going to keep this recap small, as I know they can be tedious to read if too long. Don't hesitate to ask any questions if you want more details :-P
Woke up tired and excited. The sky was bright blue after a week of rain, and instantly put me in a good mood! Because we had a ton of things to drop off at the hotel, Nicolas went with me in a cab, and we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast at the Plaza. Solid silver pots of tea & coffee, and a silver basket of croissants, pain au chocolats, brioches, etc. = pure luxury to start our day off!
I picked up the bouquets from the florist and carried on alone towards M & FIL's apartment where I was to get ready. My girls weren't far behind me, and the fun soon began! My sister painted my nails bright red, and I sipped on bergamot-infused black tea.
The morning went by in a whizz! Before I knew it, I was ready to get into my gown, and the photographer was snapping away all the precious "getting-ready" shots I'd dreamt so much of being in!
Upon arrival at the church, I started to panic. The wedding before still wasn't finished! The bride before me hung about for a long time infront of the church, even though her photos were all finished up, which really infuriated me seeing as we had agreed to make our ceremony later for them some 6 months ago. I felt she should have been grateful for that, and I didn't deserve to have to sit, crushing my gown, in the back of the car!
The ceremony was perfect in every way. Not too long, not too short. I couldn't have been happier than the moment I looked into Nicolas' eyes, as he raised my veil off my face. My heart leap!
Following the perfect bi-lingual ceremony, we went to do some photos around the city of Light, but got stuck in traffic for over one and a half hours because "Gay Pride" parade was in the city that day! We were really disappointed that due to roads being closed, we didn't get to go to the locations we had planned with our photographers. No matter however, as we improvised and still had a blast on our photoshoot!
When we arrived at the hotel we were informed we'd been upgraded to a suite! Whoopee! The cocktail party was the perfect mix of fun and elegance, shades of hot pink lighting up the walls and ceilings while classic fizzing champagne was served throughout the courtyard.
After the most magical dinner we have ever experienced, I changed into my reception dress, ready for our first dance. We'd practiced our Viennese waltz so hard, and it paid off! Everyone loved it, but not as much as us ;-)
From then on it, we danced the night away. Bedtime was 4am... and I can easily say that our wedding day was the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!!
Ok so that wasn't really very short. Sorry ladies. Off on h/moon tomorrow, will see y'all when we return!! :)
