Spring/Summer 2012 Baby Bumps!

Pains/twinges like ovulation?

I know for a fact that I ovulated from my right ovary before I got my BFP, as I always get ovulation pains. I'm now 5wks and for the last few days I've been getting the odd twinge in my right ovary - just like ovulation pains, although not severe.

I read somewhere it is likely to be a follicular cyst which is there to provide progestrogen (sp?) before the placenta forms.

I'm hoping it's this and nothing more sinister.

Has anyone else had this??

P.s. I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow so will ask him about it then.

I had these...I think it's more implantation pain and the uterus getting ready!  I had pains like that through my 5th week.

Yep.. ditto!  I remember having twinge like pains right before I got my BFP and then shortly after too.

Definitely double check with your doc, but from what I read, it's pretty normal.

Thanks Kat and Jewel

It's reassuring to hear you say you had it too, as I lost a bit of sleep last night worrying about it.

I guess because I've got normal AF-like cramping going on low down, I figured these were the normal ones. But the "ovulation" twinges are much higher and a different feeling altogether - literally just like ovulation pains.

I suppose I had better get used to all these weird things that go on in our bodies! :)

I think it's totally normal to worry about these kinds of things happening in your body... I was so worried all the time during my first tri when I would feel something that wasn't "normal" to me.

But that's just the thing... your body is going through a huge change right now.  However, if you're ever in question, just give your doctor a call to make sure that all is good.

Even now at 22 weeks, I still have moments of "omg, I hope that she's okay in there".

Ugh I hated the cramps during the first couple of weeks!  It makes you so nervous!  BUT everything I read said that cramps (as long as they aren't painful) are a good thing / sign :)

I had/have them, too. The AF cramps are lower and more like the bass in a song and the ovary twinges are like the treble in a song, higher and sharper. does that make sense?
I know for this bfp that I ovulated from my left ovary and that is where I feel the twinges even though the doc said the cyst is looking pretty "quiet" as it should at this many weeks.
I am starting to freak out at everything and I'm normally pretty zen!

I already have those lol, I suffer with bowel issues anyway (joy) so I've had those for as long as I can remember! They do seem to be worse now though. Trapped wind is not the most sociable of symptoms... watch out DH!
