Paper Lanterns

Has anyone used paper lanterns for their reception.  My reception hall has a very high ceiling and I wanted to use paper lanterns to lower the ceiling so that it would not look so cold.  Any ideas or pics would be very helpful.

i would like to do it but i'm not having a coordinator so finding someone to climb on a ladder to hang them is impossible! :)

They have a place online where you can get all different colored paper lanterns, battery operated, LED, or with a battery kit, to avoid the light kit!  http://paperlanternstore.com/  It's worth checking out, and much cheaper than World Market!  Good Luck.  I'm trying this for my November wedding to avoid the nice flourescent lights my venue has.  Bleh! :)

NY does suck in that respect, no target, no michaels, no hobby lobby, no walmart, its so not DIY wedding condusive! I would try orientaltrading

When I was thinking of doing lanterns, I found Luna Bazaar which has amazing selection

For people who have done these in the past, I have seen that they can come on a string, with multiples (like 10 per string) or I have seen them hung individually (above pic). Which is better/worse? And who usually hangs these? The staff on site, or do you have to hire someone? TIA!
