peonies in season???

just like many of you, i fell in love with peonies. i understand that they are expensive, so i don't plan to have them in my wedding. however, i do want them (in white) in my bouquet. i hear that they are craaazy expensive when they're not "in season" so i was wondering...my wedding is on may 15th-- please tell me that's when peonies are in season (i live in california)! :]

I am a CA Bride, my florist says they bloom for 6 weeks, late May through June.

With the way the weather has been lately (total spring time) perhaps they might bloom earlier this year, I don't know, just guessing.

I was told late April- end of May by 3 different florists. I'm in CA also. Keep in mind it may depend on which whole seller your florist goes with. Ex.) My wedding was in November and I had peonies in my bouquet.

I got married last April. I used peonies. But I did pay almost $200 for my bouquet.

Cabbage roses looks similar to peonies.

You should be good! They are in season in May! I really wanted them for my wedding but my Aunt (she's a florist) told me I would have to move my wedding date to have them :( She said they would be about $15 a stem in April... what?!?!

You might also want to check out Rinoculous' as well - they are similar to peonies, but cheaper and are in season in the early spring!
