I dont want to do bows...can you girls post some other ideas of how to decorate my church pews? i was thinking of maybe kissing balls or heart wreaths..DIY....any suggestions?
I love pomanders/kissing balls - and they are really easy to DIY. I haven't seen anyone show off any heart wreaths on PW, but I'm sure they are just as easy to make! It's a great way to reinforce your color scheme throughout your ceremony - and then you can move them into the reception area if you want!
what time of year is your wedding?
Are you doing all the pews, every other, or just the reserved pews? Your decoration kind of depends on how many you'll have to make if cost is a factor. I'm just decorating the front pews where we'll have reserved seating. I'll be using moss baskets filled with some sort of white flower (hydrangeas likely) and hanging from the front pews with green ribbon. If I feel like another DIY project, I have seen some cute pictures of simple pew decorations where long signs were made with decorative paper with phrases like "love," "honor," and "cherish." It looks like a simple and cheap decorating option that still looks nice. I'll see if I can find pics...
I went with more of a traditional route but for a reason. We had candles line the aisle...the stands were about 4-5 feet tall that held a votive. Since I didn't want people to enter the pew from the candle side I blocked it off with draped tulle. Then I had my pomanders on every few pews! It looked really cute...then we had reserved signs on the first 2 rows on each side!
I need to add pics once I get them.

I'm doing the poms like AMiller posted
I might do something like this, or without the lantern just ribbons and flowers
Hayley, its so strange seeing my own ceremony decor in a post! I loved the way out lanters looked on the shepards hooks
Beltran - sorry, i didn't realise i stole it from you :) They looked gorgeous though, i love the flowing ribbon too rather than using just tulle for decor!
