PINKNINJAS RE-CAP PART 1
Ok, its long!! Sorry :-) If you want to see more pics check out my bio.
I slept about 5 hours or so the night before. My bridesmaids all stayed over my house since we were starting our day at 8am. I was mentally awake at 6:30a (and I am not a morning person) so I forced myself to relax and rest until 7:30a when I finally decided to just get up. I was pretty calm and just waiting for the freak out moment to come.
Hair was arriving at 8:30a. I had some last minute things I wanted to do before things started to get chaotic (print out my vows along & finish packing things up.) My hair stylists arrived early and I jumped in the shower really quick and threw on my “sexy little bride” tank. She started setting my hair while the other girls showered. The whole thing still kind of didn't feel real.
My hair was set so I hung my dress up with my bridesmaids in preparation for my photographer. Make-up artist arrived with his boyfriend who was visiting from out of town. He started on my make-up and I started on the bossing people around since I felt like time was flying by. My phone starting going crazy as both my flower delivery & photographers were arriving. Bouquets arrived and when I saw the box I calmly had a little fit b/c the bridesmaid’s ribbons were ridiculous looking and so not like the picture I gave the florist. At least the color was right.
Once my make-up was done I checked myself out in the mirror and then decided to start ripping ribbon out of the girl’s bouquets. It was more lethargic than anything. Less ribbon = much improved! At least my bouquet ribbon was right.
Once my photographers arrived I started to get excited. I met my photographers associate, Jimmy for the first time. He was super awesome and my kind of people. He lifted up my red shoes and asked of they belonged to one of the bridesmaids. I replied that they were mine and he was like sweet and went off somewhere to photograph them. A little later the boys arrived with egg sandwiches and I ate quick and kept DH confined to the lower floor so that he didn't see me before our fist look.
Once I was all beatified my bridesmaids started to get me in my dress! We took some bridal portraits and then I went out for my first look with DH. After that, we all jumped in the van and were already running around one hour behind schedule.
We got to the park for some neat photos. Only a few minutes after getting out of the van and one of my bridesmaids said that she smelled shit. She looked down and realized she had stepped in some POO! And with open toe heels! It sucked for her but I kind of thought it was humorous. The photogs associate tried to help her clean it off but the smell wasn't fading so she changed into flip-flops and tossed her heels in the trash. DH & I took some solo pics while we waited for the poo situation to be resolved.
My videographer met us there to get some B-roll shots which was cool. We tried to get as much as possible in the time we had and of course continued running about an hour behind schedule. We jumped back into the van only to bang right into traffic. It eventually opened up and we had to keep yelling at the driver to stop with his snails pace and step on it. We had a wedding to get to and it was OURS!!
We luckily made it to the venue with enough time to do a quick rehearsal with groom & the bridal party (sans me) and I had about twenty minutes to collect myself and touch up/pee. Most of my guests appeared to be early so I had to keep myself hidden in the bridal suite when I really wanted to be able to see how everything came together. I had a designated friend helping as my DOC to check on the status of all my vendors and make sure everyone had arrived or were on there way. The all eventually made it just in time! My videographer put a mic on me and the ceremony was ready to begin.
I joined my mom & dad and finally felt a tiny bit nervous. I was disappointed that I couldn’t hear the ceremony musicians from inside and I don't even really remember hearing the music as we walked. My mom kept stepping on me b/c the aisle wasn't big enough for the three of us but I just smiled and walked toward DH. He led me to our spot in the gazebo and the ceremony began. It was really beautiful and I especially LOVED when my 6 year old flower read her reading from the Winnie the Pooh “Now we are Six.” She was the cutest, sweetest and bravest girl ever. I laughed out of sheer joy through the whole thing and I gave her a big hug when she was done b/c she did such an awesome job.
The only bad part was some complete JERK was revving a Ferrari engine like 5 time just outside of the ceremony during my friends reading. A few of my other friends ran out to kick some ass and it eventually stopped, but it was annoying b/c it really distracted people and made it hard to hear. On the sweet side, DH was teary eyed through the entire ceremony and his vows were awesome. My vows went well too, and I think I got a laugh in there from the crowd at one funny point. One of my other favorite moments was when the officiant asked “will DH take me to be his wife?’ and he yelled “ABSOLUTLEY!” Before we knew it we were pronounced man & wife, kissed, and made our way back down the aisle to the cures “Just like Heaven.”
