I bought the tents at the paper source. It was like 6 bucks for a 50 pack. I got black and red. I'm going to print the names and tables on white card stock with my swirly/damaskish motif in the corner. Then just attach it to the table tent. HTH :) They only thing holding me back is making my seating chart...a lot more work than I thought it was going to be! Everyone has requests like don't sit me with so & so....blah blah blah. I'm OVER it! haha

we're not doing placecards - only escort cards

BUT you can buy tent-cards that are perforated - and you can print at home

I used petallics (a type of metallic paper) for my programs.  I found it got crappy when folded until I figured out the trick.  You need a paper trimmer I used petallics a photo 67221-1and a bone folderI used petallics a photo 67221-2.  Martha Stewart's bone folder from Michael's was reasonable (about 7-8 dollars) and has a great added feature - a scorer (the curvy part of the picture above).  So here's what I did. This paper trimmer (by Fiskars - also at Michaels) has a small ridge for the blade to run through.  I put each piece of paper on the trimmer and used it's edges to line it up.  The fold that you want should run along the ridge.  It even has a ruler that extends 12" to help the measurements be exact.  I folded back down the plastic thing to hold the paper in place.  Then I used the scoring side of the bone folder to run along the ridge and make the crease for the fold.  Once you have done that, my metallic paper folded easily without any problems.  I found that one type of metallics worked better when you made the score on what would be the inside and petallics worked better by making the score on the outside.  I know this may sound complicated, but each fold took only a few seconds.

You can get sheets of placecards at any craft store, print them on your computer and they are already perforated so just tear apart and fold. Or you can buy the basic ones and write on them (in case you're not looking for a super labor intensive DIY)

By the way, after all of that said and done, I did not make place cards.  I assigned people to tables only, not seats.  I made a large seating chart that I put in a frame.  Forgive the reflection.By the way after photo 67227-1

samantha, thanks for the rec. i've been stressing over place cards and thank the lord for martha at wal mart. bless her soul she has the template online and everything, and they insides are just tucked in, so you can change around your table assignments if need be, all this for like 5 bucks a pack.

thank the lord! and thank you.

i also got the martha envelope guest book at micheal's which is a steal too.
