~*Planning Overload*~

Hi guys,

I write this post after another looong day avoiding wedding planning at all cost. The procrastination and avoidance are now becoming uncomfortable. About 3 weeks ago, I felt so overwhelmed from deciding between color schemes, invitation suites, cinematographers and bridesmaids gowns that I just took a break from planning. I thought it would be a few days break and back on the horse...but..I haven't done a single thing since and all these vendors are now calling and emailing me for this or that, etc.

How do I get my mind back in the wedding planning process? I want to get back the excitement and discipline to get through it all while having fun. The wedding is in November and being a teacher I have the summer off to get it all done! How do I get myself back in the game? I hate the feeling of dread and panic when I think about all that needs to get done!

I know how you feel, but the feeling of waiting too long to make plans will be worse than the work to get things done now.

Start with one thing each day. Don't overload. Make a list of priorities and you will feel so gratified when you get to check one off. You could even make a spreadsheet, if you're computer savvy, and have columns for when you called, the reply you received, or what is still needed to be done on that issue, etc.

If you still need some inspiration, watch some you tube videos of weddings and imagine what your's will be like.

C'mon girl! This is your time and your day to celebrate. Get your head in the game and have fun!

I'm sorry that you are feeling overwhelmed - but, I believe that we all have had those feelings of being frazzled.  I totally agree with Eurestruly in that make a list of what needs to be completed by what date.  That will help you out SO MUCH.

Also, remember to ask for help from family, friends, all of us here.  We are all here for you to help in whatever way we can!!!

I m sorry that photo 3479962-1

You just need to make a spreadsheet on Excel and stick to it! Date everything you need to do and then everything that is coming up soon, highlight and bold those activities so you know that you need to do those things within that month!

And then every time you complete a wedding activity/task, mark it off your spreadsheet by putting in the date you completed it. That's what I am doing it and it is keeping me completely sane and I am able to plan this entire wedding without anyone's help!!!

I remember those days! Wedding planning can be stressful and very frustrating at times!

I agree with the other ladies. Take one thing at a time. If you have deadlines to meet with the vendors, make them your priority.  When you look at the big picture, that is what makes things overwhelming. I had a notebook that I carried around like my best friend that had my to do list on it and a binder with all my contracts. I took my sister with me to pick out the bridesmaid dresses and we made a whole day out of it so that made it fun!

Last but not least, always seek PW out! We are your a part of your wedding ready to assist you and give you the encouragement and moral support you need! I would have lost my mind during my process if I didn't have this family to vent to or bounce ideas off of! Sending you lots of hugs and encouragement!

Just take it one at a time. You can do it. Start with the earliest things like venue, catering, and coverage. then get your BM and MOH to help out. For colors, just go with what you want, surely you have a fave color? You can start with that.

Another thing. Check out the inspiration boards, and especially BOTW on PW. I regret not knowing about BOTW when I was planning, I would have made my wedding more exceptional than it was.

You can do it, I swear. Some of us planned and executed our weddings in less than 3months. Goodluck.

I always stayed motivated by thinking about the day of, how I am going to marry the love of my life and I wanted to be more than just perfect. So I planned my little heart out and just stay motivated. Lol

I think it was also because I loved planning. Lol Good luck to you, best wishes and sending you hugs so you aren't overwhelmed!

YEs! Thank you so much everyone! I've finally booked the photographer, met up with the cinematographers and decided on one and updated my DIY list. There is lots to do but crying out for help actually worked :) Hubby-to-be has been incredibly supportive and plans dates around our to-do list so I don't feel like it's all work. lol.

Love you allll and so grateful to be part of PW,
