** Please Read: Source Your Photos! **

Hi ladies!

Just a friendly reminder - please try and remember to source photos you post in your threads.

Not only does it help other PW brides track down items they fall in love with, but it also helps PW to avoid copyright issues with the people that own the images.

Some examples where sourcing is needed:

  • If you post from a photographer's blog, include the link to the blog or at least the name of the photographer.

  • If you find a veil, post the link to the online store or blog where you found it.

  • If you find an image on Google, post the actual link to the website where the image is found.

  • If you post DIY instructions or post an article, post the link to these as well.

  • Similarly, if you post photos in the forum and/or bio that are borrowed from another PW bride, post the link to their bio or credit them by name.

HOW TO SOURCE PHOTOS
Some brides have also been asking how to source photos, so here's a quick "tutorial" - it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it!

First, copy and paste the link from the website. Then, type the word "source" (or some other text) under the photo you added and highlight it.  You'll need to highlight the word first before you can click on the "chain" icon to add the link.

Next, click on the little chain in the tool bar directly to the right of the tree icon. There are 2 chain icons - one that connected and the other broken.

When you click on the chain, a pop-up window will appear.  Paste the link into the "Link URL" box and then click on "Insert".

This will add the link and your highlighted word will turn pink like this: Source

This is just ONE way of sourcing photos.

If anything, you can always just paste the link directly under the photo - we'd rather have 4 lines of a huge URL link than nothing at all!  :)

Lastly, if you're trying to find the source for a photo you've saved from PW's archive of pictures, click on the photo and check the 'tags' underneath.  Unfortunately, if there aren't any tags, the member uploaded the photo without sourcing it...

Hope that helps, ladies!  If anyone else has other ways to source photos, feel free to post it on here!
