Plumcrush01's Ceremony Recap & Non-Pros
Wow...what a crazy, amazing day Saturday was! Thanks for the good weather vibes, because it was absolutely perfect during the ceremony : )
I woke up at 8 am and I wasn't nervous or anything. One of my BMs picked me up at 9 am and we headed to the salon. 4 of the 6 BMs got their hair done & it all looked beautiful. I was so happy with how my hair turned out as well. After the hair we headed to my house & had a little lunch (mini croissant sandwiches & fruit that one of my sweet BMs brought) and I got my MU done.
Derek arrived at our house with the U-Haul (we had so much decor & crap that we had to get a U-Haul LOL). He & a GM loaded that thing up so, so fast & we were actually ahead of schedule for the early part of the day...but that was going to change!
We departed for our reception venue @ 2 pm. We arrived a little early & unloaded all of the reception items & our bags of MU, dresses, shoes, etc. Now it was time for FI & I to get ready! GM, FOB & the DOC all headed over to Red Rocks to set up the ceremony space. I touched up my MU, BMs steamed my dress/veil, & I put the dress on, my hair flower on, had my BMs sign my shoes & headed out to the garden area for our 1st look pics. Unfortunately we discovered a 1 inch hole in my veil...but it was ok since it was cathedral length, that part was on the ground & not so noticeable). I wasn't emotional, just happy! Derek looked exactly like I thought he would. I surprised him with some Jeep cufflinks & he loved them. We then headed over to Red Rocks to take pics.
Walking around Red Rocks on dirt trails, through grasses & up hills was quite interesting (my dress got so dirty) but I know our pics are going to be gorgeous. There were tons of bystanders & everyone was complimenting me on my dress & saying what a beautiful bride I was : ) We headed back to the venue where the BMs were getting ready & we were still on schedule! But then...my BMs weren't ready (they had been helping the staff set-up for too long & hadn't gotten themselves ready soon enough)! Ahhh...this is when the schedule began to fail! We departed about 15 minutes late, Derek & I in the 1956 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith :)
We got to the ceremony space & I surprised my parents & MIL with their custom handkerchiefs...my dad cried : ) Finally the ceremony began (nearly 20 minutes late). It was absolutely perfect!! I did have to stop half way down the rock staircase because my veil was caught, but I think I was elegant about it! Guests absolutely loved the ceremony venue, all my decor, our amazing string quartet, our vows &
our flower unity ceremony. I cried a bit (& had an ugly cry face!), but Derek didn't at all..BOO!! He said he was too happy to cry!
I should also mention that their was a concert at Red Rocks (in the amphitheatre) the day of our wedding & so there were stoner, hippies EVERYWHERE!! Apparently they were way, way up above our ceremony space (standing in line for the concert) watching our whole ceremony! After we were announced as husband & wife & our guests starting cheering...these hundreds of concert-goers started cheering too...it was one of the coolest most unexpected moments & we will always remember it!!
Please excuse some of the goofy facial expressions, hopefully the pros caught some less goofy moments : )
They are hard to see...but here are all the concert goers that were cheering for us!
