pole dancing

Any one ever done a lesson of this? I want to do this for my aunts bachlorette party and wanted to know some of ya'lls experiences. Im in Texas, close to Houston area and just need some ideas, suggestions on people perhaps? Not even neccessarily just pole dancing, but any kind of "erotic" dance lesson that someone could come to the house to teach!?

Thanks ladies (:

I'm in Austin and have taken 6 classes with Brass Ovaries Pole dancing here. It was sooooo fun. I did it as an actual fitness class, not for a party or anything, but they do those too. It was way more of a workout than I though it'd be, and definitely a fun confidence booster! I'm not sure about anyone closer to houston, maybe try Yelp or googleing it for places and reviews?

I have always wanted to take classes for it.  I love to dance for my FI because he makes me feel so beautiful even though I have several body issues.  He's the only man I have ever danced for.  I can see how classes would be a confidence booster.  I will have to look into it.

I seriously think that sounds like so much fun!! I don't know if I will ever try it- but anything that is fun and doubles as exercise is a win for me! Also- I could always use a confidence booster. =P

I just thought I would let you all know that starting next week I am taking Stiletto fitness classes.  I will report back my findings ;-)

It's supposed to be a pretty good work out-which I'm sure pole dancing can be!

Hi GermanBride2,

Unfortunately I wasn't able to sign up yet since this week and next will be insane with work and home schedules.  Once the elections are over things will get back to normal but I am hoping to start my first class Monday or Tuesday of next week.  I promise to report back as soon as I start and give you all my honest feedback.  One drawback I can determine pretty quickly is that the classes are pricey if you are wanting to do several within a month's time.

Anyway I hope you have a great day ladies.

Okay so I promised I would report back once I finally started my pole classes so here I am :-)

I am two weeks into it and I love it. It is a fitness organization so it's not all fun and games and like everything, there are pros and cons which I listed below because I'm annoying like that.

Pros                       Cons

Very empowering!    Very expensive!

Time goes by very quickly  Minor bruising

Extremely good work out     Much harder than it looks

Did I mention how empowering it was?          Did I mention how expensive it was?  lol

It's totally worth every penny!

Excellent confidence booster

Promotes good coordination skills

The best part in my opinion of course, is that I get to perform a hot little sexy number for my baby when I am comfortable!

I get to perform many sexy little numbers for my baby!

In my opinion there are too many benefits to list here but I wanted to give you a few that I think are the most important.  I will be doing this for the entire year and I promise to come back from time to time and let you know how I am feeling about it.

Thanks for listening to my long ramble.

Glad you enjoyed it and I am surprised you di not buy a video on how to do it. Much less expensive. I am NOT FIT ENOUGHT to do that in a class with other people to say the least!

I'm not much of a video person.  I have to do hands on in order to learn effectively, it's just how I am.  I have a ton of work out video's that I haven't touched in years.  I know myself too well for that.

The classes are very small which helps a great deal and at times I do feel a little intimidated until I remember that this is MY time, MY money, MY class :)

Don't sell yourself short momma!

Thanks Elise.  I was quite surprised just how much strength and coordination it does actually take.
