POLL: AF after birth control?

Let's take a poll on how long it took for ladies to see AF again after going off their BC.

I'm starting to get worried about AF since I'm on CD 45 and she is nowhere in sight.  I have an appointment with a gyno on the 16th of this month to see what's going on but thought I'd ask the ladies on here what your experiences have been post BC.  How long did it take for your first AF to arrive?

I was on Yasmin for a year, and just stopped it last month (having issues with it), and AF just showed up last night. So it took exactly 1 month (I stopped taking them as my period started last month).

I've been fairly regular since stopping BC in Sept.  My cycles are ~24-26 days or so.

Yeah, I'm curious about this too.  I just quit taking my BC over a week ago and don't know what to expect since I've been on the pill for over 10 years.

I took BC for over 13 years (Different brands, last one was Meliane for 6 years) and my period was back on schedule within the following month.

(Which was really surprising me cause my AF stopped for almost 3 years, my doctor told me that has been caused by taking BC for such a long time) Cant tell you my cycle yet, just the 3rd month Im off.

i took BC for over 5 years..  After I stopped, my cycle was around 33 to 34 days.   Prior to BC I never tracked my cycle so I don't know what my regular cycle was then.

I took BC for 10 years and my first cycle was exactly 1 month, but I 2nd cycle took 45 days and I had a 10 day period. Uh! Having this irregularity really sucks.

Did any of you wait til your cycle was more "regular" before attempting those OPK tests?  Or did you just jump right in?

I havent used the OPKs yet, but I am charting and this is my first cycle off of BC. I think charting coupled with the OPK will actually help you see what is regular or irregular for you. So..it cant hurt, except maybe your bank account, lol!

AF showed today, with a vengeance! Bad cramps...yuck! So my first cycle off BC was 31 days long. I was on the pill for so long Im not sure what my cycles were like before but Im thinking they were like 30-35 days.

I was pretty excited AF came because I was scared my body wouldnt do what it was supposed to. I wanted to get a cycle or two of non-pill periods in and charting before we started trying so we are good to go for next month! Now that I know what to look for hopefully next month will be our month.

I was on Yaz for a while, decided to stop 3 mos before our wedding/start of TTC. Luckily my period was normal and came as expected so I was able to monitor my ovulation once we started TTC.

I was on BC for almost 9 years... I was kind of on again off again with it but mostly took it everyday during that time period.

I got off my BC for good on November 15th and got AF on the 18th... now I am just waiting to see when she will come around again this month... :)

i discontinued BC (ortho-trycyclen-lo) for about 2 months ago after being on them for 12 or 13 years. so far AF was normal the first month however the 2nd month AF came about a week early, i have not been keeping up with the calendar to see when she'll show up again for this month.

I was on Yasmin for about 8 years and when I stopped, my cycles have been 33-35 days regularly.

The first month I was off BC, I started using OPKs.  I knew when to start trying to take the test, and it took about 7 days/tests before it came back positive.  The second month was easier, because I knew about when to start testing...

*update*

My first cycle off BC just lasted 48 days.  I went off BC October 24th and just got AF today. (December 11th)

Hopefully next month will be a little more regular.

I initially went on BC 11 years ago because AF pain was so bad and now that I'm off it again, I'm IN SO MUCH PAIN!!  I forgot what this felt like!!
