poll: for the married couples: did you have sex on your wedding night?

i was going to think of something cute to say besides sex... but sometimes being blunt is just more fun. haha..

so, i keep hearing stories that the couple is too tired after the wedding to have sex, true or false?

well to be quite honest since we have been living together for 2 yrs already, i dont think its gonna be such a "special" event. we are having a morning wedding so we can probably get our energy back by bedtime .

I have heard statistics that range from 60 to 80% of couples that DON'T end up having sex on the wedding night.  I mean let's face it... it's the culmination of months, even years of exhaustive planning, having to be "on" all day for family and cameras, and possibly even a bit too much to drink... so when you consider all that, it's not surprising.

Besides, there's always the next morning to make up for it.... ;)

Yes. It wasn't until like four in the morning, though. It was awesome and incredible, despite the fact that our drunk friends caught on and gave us a round of applause/cheering from outside our suite. =X

I don't buy the whole "Too tired from the wedding" thing. Lots of things in your life will wear you out, but you should never be too tired for sex!

I had prepared myself not to because it was so hot and draining that day and we were meeting up with people in my mom's suite... But first he had to get me out of my dress... and that took awhile, if you know what I mean. :)  I didn't even have to worry about any lingerie. :)

Even though we have lived together for 5 years and have been together 7 1/2 it was still wonderful and different... Maybe it was the hotel room?  Who knows.

Hehehe, funny poll

We were both exhausted, mentally and physically. But there was no way we were not going to have sex on our wedding night. So, we both showered and relaxed a bit, I think he started to fall asleep. Thankfully neither of us had much to drink. Then I went and put on the lingerie that my girls bought me at my bachelorette party. DH works for an airline, so my BFFs bought me the Flight Attendant costume from last October at Victoria's Secret. Complete with the mini-skirt, bolero jacket, push-up bra and hat! DH has never had a thing for flight attendants, but it was hilarious anyway. Plus it was kinda cool because I'd had a brazilian wax just before the wedding... first time for that! Sorry if that's TMI. ;-)

Like Squillace said, even though we'd been together for almost a decade, it was great and different somehow. I'm not sure how to describe it.

abattyref, I plan on doing a brazilian wax too before the wedding! Just to give him *something* different to look forward to! Tell me, is it as awful as I imagine it to be???

You know what? It wasn't that bad! I have pretty sensitive skin, I'm really white, transparent in some areas... so red bumps, spider veins and ingrown hairs are really obvious on my skin. I was worried that my skin would rebel against me after waxing. It was a little red for about a day, but then it was fine.

As far as the waxing itself. Yes, it hurts, don't let anyone try to convince you otherwise.  Especially on those areas under the "folds" where the hair is much coarser and doesn't want to come out. But if you are proactive about it, there's lots of ways to make the pain less. Take some Advil before you go, it'll help keep your skin from swelling. When you're in there, don't be shy about spreading your legs out and making it easier for the waxer to get up in there. ;-) And, most important, it's kind of up to you to pull your skin taught since her hands are busy with the wax. The tighter you can pull your skin, the less it will hurt.

Every time I'm in there I think to myself, "this really hurts. I don't want to do this again."  But when it's done, I totally change my mind. It wasn't THAT bad, I could totally do it again. This is totally my opinion based on my experiences, and I know that everyone's pain threshold is different. I don't get waxed all the time because I don't like having to wait until my hair is long again. Plus the woman I go to is in the Bay Area. I haven't tried a place near home in Long Beach. In my opinion, it's totally worth it. DH really likes it too and has become... uh... better when he's down there.... know what I mean? ;-D

i was so tired... He got back about an hour after me, I cleaned and prepared for our guests as my brother spent the night in the farm house where we were staying the night before and the whole band, actually 3 bands that came up from Seattle were staying where my brother and his fam had stayed the night before. So I was like washing all the sheets, make beds and one of my girlfriends two year old twins who were there with a babysitter who had fallen asleep. So I get back to the farm house, I am doing wash, preparing the place for our guests and these two little girls show up out to nowwhere all sticky and messy from what they had got into so I am like giving them a bath at midnight on my wedding night!!! They were so cute, and I loved it, just a strange way to go into my wedding, no man, cleaning, doing laundry and taking care of the children by myself... He comes back about an hour later and I am soooo tired and just want to go to sleep. I dont, cuz it is my wedding night, but I was sooooo tired, I really wanted to just go to sleep.

bets!! totally do it!

take some advil before or they have "scream cream"--- it's some kind of numbing agent...  just breathe calmly; "xsfer" the pain and tell yourself it doesnt hurt...

EXHALE as she's pulling the strip of muslin

i've been doing it for years - EVERYTHING - meaning the "culo" area also... sorry if thtt's oversharing...  but in addition to the obvious - brazi's makes everything so much cleaner when aunt flo is in town also!!

oh but dont get waxed anywhere the week before aunt flo - your skin is much more sensitive

We had an afternoon wedding so we weren't out too late but I *was* exhausted.  Mostly from smiling for six hours straight for all the photos and greeting everyone.  My cheeks were twitchy from all the smiling.

We were practically shooed out the door by our family and guests.  We hadn't seen eachother in four months so there was no way we would pass up the wedding night!
Exhausted? Yes!  Too exhausted? No way! :D

heehee...in regards to that statistic thing, for an out of town wedding we recently attended, the bride gave the groom a t-shirt (which he wore at the farewell brunch the next morning) which read "i am not a statistic!"

we were all cracking up, since he kept telling everyone the night before that they weren't going to fall into that majority bucket of newlyweds. heehee...
