Poll: What type of undergarments??

My sister is advising me to get cups sewn in my dress so I don't have to worry about a bra. My bra seemed fine when I tried it on with the dress, and honestly, alterations are already paid for, I don't want to have to pay more...so...I'm wondering

what did yo wear under your gown??

Cups were already built into my dress, so I didn't have to worry about a bra.  I wore undies and a slip.

I had one those fabulous corset bra's that are strapless. Held everything in place, it's awesome. Then at the bottom I wore one of those pairs of undies from hell that suck everything in. Was it comfy? Goodness no, but it made me look thin and it was worth it!

I'm getting cups because the back of my gown is a little lower than a bra line and I don't want to have to worry about tucking it in all night and I don't want to tack my bra to my dress. plus whenever I wear strapless bras I feel the urge to pull up on it even if its position is fine so this was easier.

I didn't wear a bra. I am top heavy so wearing a bra or corset had me spilling over and heaving up.

At 2nd fitting I opted to get the cups sewn in (even though at 1st fitting I didn't want to do or pay xtra for unnecessary alterations), but I don't hv a corset on my dress and I loss a little more weight, everything was lokn flat w/o it. Other than that I'm renting a mermaid slip 4 my dress, that's it...and undies of course.

My gown already had cups sewn in (YAY!!), so the only thing I had to wear were the knickers.  ;)

Thanks ladies. I'll definitely have to consider having cups sewn in.

I had cups sewn in. I was a little leary at first b/c I was worried about feeling exposed without my bra, but at my final fitting the cups were super comfy and I was safe inside my dress.  Plus, I don't have to deal with strapless bra falling down or having to wear it all day.

I wore nothing up top! When I bought my dress it fit fine just as it was. Then when it came in and I had a fitting for it they put cups in just to see if I would want them but it made my boobs squish too much so I didn't get them added. I'm a 34F so I was shocked that I didn't need anything!!

even if my dress had cups, i honestly wouldnt feel comfortable in public unless i had a bra on! my mom is urging me to buy a white strapless bra, but i have this dark gray calvin klein one that i LOVE, and i wore it to my fitting and to pick out my reception dress, so i honestly think i might jsut stick with this one because you cant see it through either of my dresses anyway

I am very top heavy and was thinking I'd have to get cups sewn in and luckily (and surprisingly) I didn't need to!

My dress was molded for my girls and with the corset style made it so that I didn't need anything. I was secure and put away all night. :) Good luck Elise!

I'm getting cups sewn in as well. I've got a larger bust and an actual bra or a corset made it so my cleavage was litterally coming up to my neck....pretty funny :P

Do the corset's really fit well under the gown? I know I had one on when I tried on the dresses but it's much more comfy with a bra, plus with the corset it's hard to sit and be comfortable.

Just to give you an update, I did my last fitting today before I pick up on Thursday and there is a huge difference with the cups, it really puts this babies in the right direction.

I'm having cups sewn in just for the fact that my dress has a low cut back thats see through and the front is a plunge neckline. I really wanted a corset bra.

Hmm, definitely things to consider! I'm definitely NOT top heavy, so the bra makes me look better up there, but cups sewn in do the same thing correct? Then I won't have to worry about pulling up my bra or anything like that...I did have a slight inkling to have my photog get a picture of me putting on my dress with my sweet checkered bra though. Maybe I'll do that, then take the bra off!! haha
