Poll: Whose paying for the wedding?

My fiance and I are paying for 99.9 percent of the wedding (his adopted mom is paying for the booze) and I am feeling overwhelmed. We are both artists and are just making ends meet and cannot save. I feel that we are the only ones who have to pay for our wedding.

I was wondering how many of you are paying for your wedding vs getting parental or outside help? How much is that help?

We are paying for 100% of the wedding which is why we are so stressed out. We have 2 little boys (7mo & 5yrs.) so I am currently staying at home with them. We had been thinking about postponing the wedding because of money, so I know how hard it is.

My parents are paying for the majority of the wedding. My parents gave us a $$ amount(which was extremly generous and more than I ever dreamed it would be). My FI parents have not really specified what they are or are not paying for which is driving me INSANE! They keep saying " we just don't know how these things work". I'd rather they just say "we wish we could help, but we can't" and then I would know exactly how to budget things. FI and I are also contributing, but mostly picking up any extras that I can't squeeze into the budget my parents gifted us (ie. attendants gifts, photobooth, candy jars, candles, and anything else that may pop up.
I feel extremely blessed that my parents have been so generous! Otherwise I don't know how we would be doing this without MAJORLY going into debt!!!

My parents are paying for the venue dress and a couple other things. We've paid the photog. dj and invites so far. It's kind of a collaboration between us and my parents.

My Fiance and I are paying 100% for the wedding. Would be great if our parents could pay but we didn't want to burden them.

But lately, my Fiance mother offered to pay for half of my dress and ceremony. That was so nice of her, I love her and thank God.

We are paying for the majority of the wedding. MY parents gave us $1000 and FI's parents gave us nothing so far but they are planning on giving us something. I hope. SO with 200 guests I am on a huge budget.

My mom got an inheritance and spent the last of it on my wedding.. WOW We were blessed. Some of the other family members contributed at the wedding after my mom had paid for everything. We bought our plane tickets... to go to our destination wedding on Orcus Island in Washington State. Our guests came from all over, it was beautiful.

We are paying for most of our wedding.

My mom is legally blind so she does not work, but she insisted in buying my wedding dress. I could not talk her out of it for anything.

My FMIL is a wholesale florist so she is taking care of the flowers and the florist, splitting jobs between all of her customers to spread the favors... :)

The rest is up to us. My mom is fab though and really wants to help with the planning, she has the best ideas and she is still pretty crafty. And we are both totally bargin shoppers so that is fab too! Actually she is still more crafty than I am and she's blind, although it's only been 5 or so years.

Both dads are not in any condition to pay for anything, and we are ok with that. My FFIL is partially paralised from a stroke 9 years ago and my dad is retired and disabled.

Man we really sound like a mess... But some how we will make it I just know it! But the stopping shopping (at least for non wedding related items) has been soooo hard for me. Recovering shop a-holic over here... It's a disease I swear!

We are paying 85% of it. My parents are not contributing and FI's parents are contributing the 15%. I'm working and FI is a full time law student AKA not working. We'll take whatever we can get!

It's been really tough and stressful. I really have champagne taste with a beer budget. I'm hoping some guests will decline!

My parents are paying for almost everything. We too cannot get his parents to commit to paying for something, they were going to do the rehearsal dinner, but we are not having one. Hopefully they will pay for the photographer. I am paying for all of "my" things, which adds up, including the hair, makeup, shoes, and all the accessories, and gifts, honeymoon and rings. And maybe a photobooth too.

We're paying for the whole kit and caboodle. There had been the promise of $$$ from my parents (his parents aren't doing a thing), and when that fell through, we scrapped the big wedding idea and scheduled the wedding-moon. We decided we absolutely didn't want to go into any debt for the wedding, so this is an all cash/all paid for affair. :)

My parents are paying 100%, but we have a fairly small budget.  I'm more then happy with that!  I kinda figured we'd be settling for just a civil ceremony, so I'm thrilled that I'm getting this opportunity to share it also with both of our families and with my pastor!

His family is all flying out from the Netherlands to be with us - I consider that an amazing gift  and I can't wait to see them again!
