ok so what sealed the deal for choosing your venue over all others??
the niceness of the manager and her following up with us.
she went above and beyond and really sold the place to us. we knew we'd get lots of attention and hand holding and knew that with her we wouldnt be ignored (verry important).
she also offered lots of discounts and incentives. plus, its really nice, in a nice area, close to the guests, we can do both ceremony and reception there AND the fact that a fellow pw bride is having hers there really made me feel comfortable that this wasnt too good to be true.
well unfortunately i didnt get the venue i wanted.. my "dream" venue was Ponte Winery in Temecula, but dearest dad didnt want to sign the contract sooooo, we went with the place he liked the best.. which i do love, its so pretty, but i was going for a "romantic garden vineyard" style wedding, and now have tropical hawaii garden wedding.. not quite the same.. but its still a very very cool venue.. its absolutley gorgeous, and had this whole experience been a couple years ago, it would have definitely been my first choice. I was totally into tropical settings a couple years ago lol.. anyways.. pics in my bio..
so ya.. long story short: we chose our place because dad loved it and was ready to sign right then and there.. SOLD! lol
I loved the place it was very romantic, elegant, just the right size, and right on the waterfront ! Not to mention affordable! Also they had really tasty food! The resturant before that one we were gonna get a discount from a friend, but the place was small, and the food wasn't that good. I was gonna do it just cuz the price, luckily my cuz told me just becuz it's cheap doesn't mean it's the best choice. She was right and we made a better decision.
we originally wanted HI, and then 2 other places in the Bay area...but FMIL wasn't havin' it....so SHE ended up picking this place....(PIB) I haven't even seen it in person!!! D1rty has though...and so has the FMIL and FSIL....they all say it's very nice...
I love it the minute I saw it. It's a beautiful place with a little bit of comtemporary with traditional style. I found it online and set up a meeting with Terri (manager), the minute I saw it it person, I wondered if we could even afford it, but to my surprise it was within our price range. We wanted a ceremony outside and the reception in a ballroom and that is exactly what we are getting. The day after the meeting with the manager, we went back and put our deposit. You can see some pictures in my websiter (www.mywedding.com/karinahector). It was just perfect!!
Good morning, girls! It's almost friday!
Maria, great question. ;) FI and I chose our venue because it met both of our needs.
His needs: PRICE, level of affordability, and distance from the ceremony siteMy needs: High ceiling, large dance floor, large ballroom, and price
Our venue met all of it. We knew it the moment we left our first visit. The coordinator just seemed a little hard to work with. But, we couldn't let that stop us so we booked it!
burbank venue right??
Yup! You know which one?
Beautiful view of the ocean, Nice area for our OOT guests to visit, fairly close to come, and they just added another ocean deck and tropical garden.
Oh, another "con" of my venue is that they do several weddings over the weekend. It can get pretty hectic but hopefully our planner can work with the venue's coordinator to prevent that from happening.
FMRSB--> yeah it was featured on "wedding central"
man that place is a wedding machine!!! gorgeous view of the valley below tho =) and the balroom is not the typical awful carpeted ballroom!!
I heard! I really want to see that episode but I don't have the WE channel. =/ Do you know if I can find it on the internet?
Did they feature the grand ballroom (I think 400 guests max)? If so, that's what we're using.
YES!!! cant remember if it was Wetv.com
Thanks, girl! You can im it to me. =)
We chose it based on a few things. First is the affordability. Second is the flexibility...they're letting us cater in "cultural" foods. Thrid is that the location not only has the first 2 things, but its beautiful, elegant, and classy too :)
I chose our venue because it exudes the romantic atmosphere I was going for. It wasn't a stuffy ballroom and people were free to roam the garden and explore.
My husband chose the venue becaue of the ginormous koi fishes =)
We chose it because it is a place that holds significance for me and my family. It is a private dinner club where my family has been members for my whole life. It is very nice and the food is awesome. PLUS, they provide everything. I was not going to bother with picking linens, chairs, etc. this place has beautiful linens, chairs, plates, servers, food, etc.
Price. plain and simple. We did a lot of shopping around and this place couldn't be beat... 4 course meal, cheese and crackers, and a champage toast. Our meals are citrus salmon or chicken cordon bleu, and it's $31 per person.
The room is very cute too, fits 120, we'll have 80. We saw one other place with similar prices, but it only fit 50ish.
you had me at citrus salmon...mmmm yummmmmm
