Postage Change

Hey ladies,
So I feel a little dumb - I ordered the stamps I liked best online for my wedding invites and STDs at the same time. I neglected that the postage changes May 12 and apparently it has the past few years. I guess I never noticed because I've always had someone to stamp my letters for me! Okay well if you're going to order stamps, don't do what I did or else you'll be adding 1 cent stamps too haha.

Sorry gurl. I just ordered my stamps for my invites and was about to over-order but retain myself from doing that. The next day from my purchase - they announced the additional postage.

I'm considering buying bulk of the "Forever" stamps before the price hike.

I already bought it as well, but decided to make it work. I am sending out my invites just before the deadline (my wedding is in late July so it is a week or so early, but I want to make it work). I am doing response postcards, so I will buy those stamps with the higher rate.

I hear you gals...we bought the wedding postage stamps @ 58 cents and since our invites are 6.5" squares they are considered oversized and they cost 97 cents to deliver!!! Originally i thought the 58 + 34 cents was enough, now i have to stick on another 5 cents on some of the invites...that makes 3 stamps/invite. I should of checked w/ the post office before sticking on the stamps.

Yeah, we just sent out all our invites...we took a sample invite with us with all the inserts in it...and had them weigh it to make sure that .41 was enough....and told them we needed 400....200 for invites 200 for RSVPS....well he didnt tell us until after I looked at the reciept that the invite needed 58 cents....so we bought 400, 58 cent stamps...dang it....we wasted about $50.....and by the time we realized it, it was too late we were down the street onto our next errand which was time sensitive.....oh well....what are you going to do? At least we will definatly have enough stamps on our RSVPS

zazzle.com has great, easy to make ones too but I'm just not willing to pay the extra few cents each because it adds up!
