PreNatal Vitamins

Hubby and I are going to TTC soon (a few months)....should I start prenatals before we start trying? Are they perscribed by your doctor or do you get them over the counter? I've seen some in the vitamin aisle in stores, but didn't know if there were other options.

1. its recommended that you start taking them 3 months beofre ttc

2. you can get them over the counter, unless they make you really sick, the dr might be able to perscribe some

3. my boss is an ob, and she takes the generic target ones, she said they are all the same, those ones are cheaper and god size, they dont choke her

I went to my ob in July and told her we planned on starting to ttc in January. She said to start taking prenatals and just said to get Womens One a Day prenatals from Walmart, Target, etc. They are about $15 for 30 days. I take them with dinner and Ive never had a problem with my stomach being upset.
