Preparing for cold weather weddings!

I was just at an outdoor wedding this past weekend where the cold weather took everyone by surprise! The BMs and bride were in strapless dresses with no wraps and the pastor had to shorten the ceremony on the fly because everyone was so cold!

Fall weather can turn on a dime in many places, and the weather shouldn't be your source of cold feet on your wedding day, so here are some tips for preparing for unexpected cold weather on your wedding day!

- Pick dresses that come with an optional wrap or shrug.

- Use wooden chairs instead of metal, which can get really cold and make your guests uncomfortable

- consider renting small gas heaters to warm your guests during the ceremony

- Consider handing out gloves or hand warmers as favors!

- Incorporate blankets into your decor that guests could use

- Have a warm signature drink ready to hand to guests as they enter the reception or leave the ceremony site

- Instead of traditional wedding shoes, try incorporating fun fall boots for the BMs or even the bride!

What else can you ladies think of for this list??

Oh I love this!  What great tips! Me and hubby went to a wedding in October last year and the weather was perfect, an indian summer. Now it is so darn cold in Michigan I put on my winter coat and turtle neck. Lol.

I love the idea of a warm drink! I was thinking probably some cocoa handed to the guest as they are coming in.  It was so darn hot the day of my wedding I wish I would have gave out water during the ceremony.

Very helpful ideas. For luck the weather on our wedding day was good. But we were invited to a July wedding last year and it was very very cold for a German July!

A Hot Cocoa bar or Hot Cider would be good!

We're expecting cold weather for our wedding in 4 weeks.  It's going to be indoors and we have an enormous fireplace that will most likely be lit for everyone's comfort.  (Especially mine because I get cold so easily!)  I don't think there's much I can add except maybe for an outdoor wedding have a tent available and be prepared to put the sides on.
