Pretty Idea for Rustic-Style Centre Pieces
Hi, just thought I'd share this idea as I love it and will be making these for my reception which is a sort of ethereal enchanted forest theme.....
Basically the idea is to make a layered 'halo' out of copper electrical wire (wrap it around a small bowl 3 or 4 times..... the key is for it to not be too neat if you want that rustic look), then gather leaves from the garden (In my garland-making book it suggests oak leaves, but I will be using ivy vines personally) and attach them around the halo using super glue. You can make pretty curly tendrils from any spare copper wire by wrapping it round a pen to create a 'spring' and attach to the halo either using glue or by twisting the end around the halo wires. Once this is done, spray with gold spray paint and leave to dry! I plan on having one or two of these on each wedding table, with a pillar candle stood in the middle :)
A large one would be great to stand your wedding cake in too!
