Good idea! (and is there anyway you can make this into a "sticky" post so the headline appears in bold and at the top of the boards?)   (Katyana "stickyd" it :-)

My problem/complaint in a nutshell:  paid for dress Jan 14, 2010 (3 months ago!!) and not even reply on when they can send me photo of my test dress.  email asking about when they can send me photo of test dress sent over 1 week ago.  when I first paid for my dress (fully paid too!!) they said my dress will be ready by end of April.  I received an email from Jessica/Bella last week that my dress will now be ready end of May... but how can that be when I don't even know if they're making the dress correctly (it's a custom made dress).  the full details here: http://www.projectwedding.com/post/list/no-test-dress-with-5-weeks-left-until-the-deadline-i-gave-them

Same situation as PigglyWiggly - dress due in 6 weeks and haven't seen any photos or had any updates on progress yet. Have emailed 3 times asking if they've started on it but have had no reply. Really starting to panic now! Paid in full at the end of February.

I'm super pissed. They asked if any changes needed to be made to my test dress. I gave them the list, and then asked to be sent a picture of the changes so I could APPROVE them to go to the next step or not. THEY NEVER DID. A few weeks after I had sent the changes in, I sent an email asking when they were going to send pictures of the test dress with the changes. They said it had already gone to production!!! WTF! I had no IDEA that they would just do the changes and not ask for a second approval, because I heard that it's almost impossible for them to change anything once it's "done". I am livid!

Ash - unfortunately that's what normally happens. I made a few requests to change things on the test dress and never knew there was even an option for a second test dress. Be extra cautious when you get new pictures b/c you want to make sure your requests for the test dress are implemented.

Don't know if its a complaint per se, but they DO NOT honor their quoted time-lines!!! I knew going in that "you pay with your time, or you pay with your money " but goodness! Be warned unless you have a TON of patience and order the dress a full eight months before your wedding, not counting Dec-Feb, DO NOT bother!

I had to cancel my order because of scheduling issues. I'm still waiting for my refund. They keep telling me its coming but I haven't see it yet. $400 is a lot of money to just throw away. Especially sense I had to use my honeymoon money to buy another dress.

Paid in full in january, was told by Annie that due to the chinese new year and how busy they were they were not making test dresses anymore (which is strange cos alot of people on here seem to still be having them). Got an email from jessica/Bella last month telling me that they will now be taking care of my order, have sent numerous emails asking when i will see photos of the dress but they alwasy tell me a date but nothing happens on that date.

Im getting really upset and seriously stressed about this now, i sent Bella an email 2 days ago saying that if i do not see photos by next week i will be cancelling my order with Milly Bridal, she sent me an email back saying I should see photos in a few days and receive my dress next week. We´ll see...im not getting my hopes up too much.

I dont have a plan B which is worrying me even more, i live in mallorca and the Bridal shops here are pretty rubbish, im from the UK but cant get back there before the wedding because of work!!! So if anyone can give me some advice of what i can do if this dress dont work out i would be very greatful!!!

Hi Kaytana,

Yes i have been looking on ebay but havent seen anything yet which is like what i want. I will keep looking though. Its such a shame that Milly Bridal are making what should be one of the happiest and exciting parts of wedding planning into such a stressful ordeal :(

laurieanne - what was their reason/justification/explanation behind not doing a test dress on your CUSTOM gown?!

Annie told me that they had decided not to make test dresses anymore as they had too many dresses to finish!! This was just before Bella took over my order and I asked Bella how I could change things if they did not do a test dress and she said not to worry they could make changes if i wanted!

Anyway i sent another email to Bella today saying that I would like to cancel my order as I dont see how they can make a good quality dress in such little time (she told me it will be done by may 10th), she replied saying that my dress is already in production and will be of top quality so not to worry! I then replied saying that if I was not happy with the dress then I will be wanting a refund.

Ive been looking in the dressilyme website as I see a few other brides have been using them.

I love how they just decide to change the rules after you've already sent them the money. No test dress on a custom dress? That's ridiculous. And, good luck getting them to make changes on the actual dress. After they screwed up on multiple items they told me they couldn't make the changes without ruining the dress... Now Bella claims it's no problem to make changes to the actual dress. That doesn't make sense.

I am just a bridesmaid and have ordered a dress from Milly.  I knew I could have many choices to buy a bridesmaid dress with $200+ but I would like to dress up beautifully at my best friend's wedding; hence, had made a bet on Milly.  They've kept assuring me that they were going to work on my dress, they were just waiting for my confirm for the test dress, my dress would be finished on xxxxx.....etc.

This Monday, Bella promised that the dress would be finished by the end of this week or early next week.  No news from her for the next 2 days until I email her again for progress, but she didn't tell me anything.  Instead, was just assuring me that my dress would be made upon my request.  I email her again last night for reminding that I would not accept any delay, and Bella told me that they won't be able to finish my dress on time and would arrange a refund for me.

I was so stressed that I've kept telling them I don't have time for other arrangment as of the Wedding is coming.  If they had told me they could not finish it on time 2 weeks ago, I could still have alternatives but they didn't.  The wedding will be held in 1 week!  I had tried to find one on ebay and other online stores but none of them could be arrived on time by shipping.  I felt so sorry for my friend as she had shopped with me at the local store and intend to buy one for me, but I kept assuring her that I would manage my dress.

I do not want to attend my best friend's wedding as the bridesmaid anymore. I understand that it really doesn't matter what I wear as a bridesmaid, but I feel very stressful right now.  After I've email them again to tell them my difficulties, Jessica email me and said they would try to finish it on Tuesday.

What I could do is to wait for their news and see if they could finish it on time as I don't have any mood to shop for a new one.

sonoko - wow, sorry to hear about it!  if you can fit into a sample size at local bridal shops, you may want to try to see if you can buy one "off the rack".  i'm assuming that the bride didn't specify that her BMs wear the exact same dress?

sonoko - I'm so sorry to hear about the difficulties you've encountered with Milly Bridal. I agree w/pigglywiggly - why don't you scout some of the local bridal shops for a dress? I think your friend would be hurt if you didn't stand up there w/her all over a dress...all she cares is that you're there.

Try department stores as well. Many of them have a special occassions department and you may find something there.

Well I have asked Bella time and time again if i can make changes to the dress if need be and she assures me i can! But ive seen loads of stories on here of brides who could not make any changes to the actual dress!

Im so over it now, i feel like I dont want the stupid dress now no matter how it looks, Im sure i wont get a refund so im thinking whatever happens im going to be 350 down :(

Worse thing is my fiance was so against me ordering from Milly Bridal and said that he knew i would end up having to buy a new dress.

I am now considering flying over to the UK for a day to try this dress on that I have seen on ebay, and if that doesnt work out just spending the whole day going round bridal shops in the hope of finding a dress i like off the rack.

Im sorry to hear your story sonoko, I really hope u manage to find another dress before your friends wedding!

laurieann- try to stay positive and not stress. just because others had bad experiences does not mean that you will as well. It is good that you have a back up plan, but be positive, patient, and pray. No matter what, it will be fine, just don't get yourself all worked up.
