I like programs, but to have rhem the program does requie I buy all my invite paper from a wholesaler online...
$120 should buy me paper for (atleast 150 ea. w/ left over paper):
Invitations w/ inner and outter envelopesResponse PostcardsPrograms (folded)Escort Cards (Name Cards)Table TentsFavor TagsAND
Thank you postcards
Granted that does not include the vellum or embellishments but I think if I spend another $75-$100 for vellum (its EXPENSIVE), ribbon, & glue then that's a good deal...
plus as I said there will be left overs, I am purchasing boxes of 250 and only need 100-150 SO I can use the left overs for other party invites or homemade x-mas cards.
That's the plan anywayz LOL!
oh yeah, plus I think its a nice way to acknowledge people if you get volunteers, sponsers, or Padrinos Y Madrinas (as we call them)... and I plan on adding the puzzle thing as entertainment to buy time while we do pictures :) -meoc
we've decided not to due them due to the short length of the ceremony and the additional cost.
I'm still debating if I'm going to do them... I think they are a nice additional touch. I'll have to see if I can afford them when the time comes. =o)
I designed our program and am making them for about 50 cents each. I just like that it is somewhere to put the bridal party and our parents names so that the guests can acknowledge them.
I am having them because I love to do DIY, they will be going with our color scheme, choc. brown and turquoise, and I am making them 4x4 squares, they will be wicked cute :)
haha, summerbride, you said wicked... you're totally from NE! I love it!
:) Oh geez I didn't even realize I typed that!!!
nothign is necessary except the license, the officiant and a witness...
I bought a DIY pack from Michael's and printed them out the day before. We only did 40 and gave 1 to each family. It turned out really nice and it just makes a good keepsake.
I'm having a ctholic wedding. What exactly goes in the programs? Anyone have samples of one?
I am stick back and forth on them. The only real reason I want to is to give acknowledgment to the bridal party and our parents for all their help. Also to put the lyrics of the processional song.
If you want a inexpensive route, michaels carries them for 10 dollars for a pack then you can print your own. That is the route I will go if I do decide to do them.
i just saw one online. I think i will skip it. One less step, and a few dollars saved. I really dont think my guest will care.
twinklen--> another Catholic bride skipped making them b/c she felt her non-Cath guests would be too busy reading the programs to be paying attention to the ceremony...
but i'm with you--> one less step and few pennies saved!! (p.s. i never cared as a guest! yikes does that make me bad guest??)
