PROJECT BRIDAL SWAP! ! ! !

PROJECT BRIDAL SWAP!

The ladies of PW have some amazing shoes, veils, and accesories.  Some of them bought too much for the big day and want to share!  They are looking to gift their new or like-new shoes, veils, and accesories to brides in need who may not otherwise be able to buy or wear them.

To participate, there are a few rules!

If you need a bridal item

  • Post your story here in this thread!  Tell us about your wedding, your fiance, and why you need and or would love an item gifted to you by a fellow PW bride!  Please include your shoe size/dress size as applicable, as well as give us a general idea of your overal style and theme!  Feel free to post photos.
  • Please post your wedding date!
  • Be prepared to cover the cost of shipping
  • If a member has something that may work for you, they will contact you privately via PM
  • If you are gifted an item, please make sure to post photos of the item in action at your fittings and wedding!

If you would like to donate a bridal item

  • Items should be a modern bridal style and in new or like-new condition
  • You would be gifting the item to the member and will not get it back
  • The member will pay shipping
  • You get to read through their stories in this thread and decide if you want to contact one of them!  If a members post really speaks to you, and you have something you think they may love and enjoy, send them a PM and include estimated shipping costs.
  • You may also post your item in this thread, but be prepared for a LOT of PM's from brides who want it

RULES:

  • Please be honest
  • PW is not responsible for lost or damaged goods, or failure to deliver
  • I recommend payment of shipping costs be done via Paypal
  •  If you were gifted something, please consider re-gifting it after your wedding!

I would like to start an organization in Guatemala that lends dresses to third world country brides. Lets give them an opportunity to borrow a wedding dress for their big day. I have talked to my cousin and she will be in charge of getting a list of brides to help out but we are in need of bridal gowns. If you have a wedding dress that you no longer use and would like to donate it for a good cause send me a message. There are a lot of needy brides in Guatrmala who would love to wear a wedding dress in their big day but cannot afford to buy one.

I would like to post my story. I just discovered this site so Im excited to meet other brides. My fiancee and I just got engaged last Thursday but have talked about this for a while. We are best friends, soul mates, yes, I said the cheesy soul mates line. I've never met a man so willing to take in my two kids and my baggage from my previous relationship. I am looking to save where I can, my budget will be only about $3,000. We are getting married at the beach, in hopes to save money on a venue. Our colors will be pink, kind of a dark but bright pink and black. I only need shoes for the dinner party after size 9. My dress size is 12. I would like a simple veil or nice hair piece. We are using mason jars on hooks as lighting, with candles in them.. Im hoping this isnt to tacky. I saw a picture on google that was cute. Or vases to put down with floating candles. Im still looking online for ideas of easy cheap but elegant ways to dress things up with a small budget. Any items that may help in decorating a beach wedding would be appreciated. Thank you, Shannon

How cool! I actually just posted this morning about how i have only 6 weeks (!!!) to plan my wedding! I have nothing besides the location ready to go! (His dad is a pastor, lucked out!) We've been engaged for 2 years, and were in the middle of planning our elaborate wedding when BAM! I got pregnant!!! My son, Eli is now 3 months old, and my fiance just "re-proposed" last week (in the same spot as before <3) We originally wanted July 21, 2012 to be our wedding date, because it's also our anniversary. We know it's close to impossible to pull off, but in the next six weeks, we plan to go wedding-nuts and make it happen! If anyone would like to donate ANYTHING (seriously, even if it's confetti or a balloon, lol) everything helps. If we're talkin' anything else, i wear a size 6.5 shoe and i believe an 8 dress (?? still havent been fitted, haha)

What an awesome site.  So here is my story.  I am marrying for the second time.  This time, between the two of us we have 4 children who live with us full time.  I am a teacher and he has stopped working to attend medical school full-time (a dream he was not able to pursue before).  We are trying to have a classy winter wedding. But our budget is under $1500. So far it looks like we can do it!!! :)  I have made all the invitations with the help of my scrapbooking materials, my bridal bouquet, and decorations for both the ceremony and reception.  I would love to find a champagne veil but  since those seem to cost twice as much as my dress (luckilly found a beatiful one for $60 at DB) I think a veil is out of the question :( also could use champagne shoes sixe 6.5-7.

Here is the part I really need.  My two daughters want to be "in the wedding" and I want them to be as well" however the dresses for them that compliment our colors (latte and champagne) are almost 150 each.  My FI and I can not afford to buy our sons suits and the girls dresses and include all the children in the ceremony with out some gracious help from others out there.  Here are there sizes 10 ladies, 14 junior girls, 12 boys, and 7 boys.  IF you would consider providing any dresses or suits for our kiddos we would be so greatfull. Thanks for considering

I am back with my high school sweetheart after being apart for 22 years and we are planning a fall wedding next year. He currently has a trach and he's got to have surgery to have it removed. He doesn't want to get married until its out so we are trying to get money up for that because he has no insurance. Every little bit will help. Our color scheme is black & white damask with deep red accents. I wear an 8 in shoe. I am a plus size bride also. Anything and everything will be greatly appreciated! Thank you for considering! I would also love ANY ideas for our outdoors wedding!!

ok, so now we are not sure "WHAT WE WANT", so for now, i am looking for flowers to make my dream bouquet, and am still looking for a dream gown, i changed my mind about the gown, but, will take what you have that looks like the pictures.

I am looking for these colour of flowers to make my bouquet with.

Soft colours in browns, tans, rose, ivory, blues, greens, deep reds, champagne or a mix match, like a flower that has white pinks yellows in the same. i have my broches and feathers, i just need to find some lace and some ribbon, and i have tulle.

Peonies, roses, anything that might help

here is a picture of what i want to make, but, i want these colours to create a romantic victorian look bouquet.

i can't pay alot so let me know what you have and your price please or if you wish to help out another fellow bee then i would gladly accept free items. god bless to you all.

here is my story and listing, and i am still looking for a wedding gown, nice sparkly shoes.

Hello all,

Here is our story, FI and I met at work 2 years ago when we got switched to the same team and we have been inseperable since. After 4 months of basically living together he proposed!!  Unfortuanly like most other people out there the economy took its toll and my FI lost his job (thank god i still have mine).  He was getting unemployment so that was ok but it is ending next month.  Our wedding is 12/15/12 so i don't have much time left to figure stuff out.  We have had a huge amount of drama and catastophies in the last year and a half, a few of the majors are, in October 2011 my Dad was diagnosed with cancer and they now say he may not even make it to November of this year which means no one is walking me down the aisle.  We tried to move the date up for him but when he found out all the $$ involved in that he told me not to worry he will still be there even if we cant see him.  He promised he wouldnt leave my side.  He bought me my first dress and had it made for me but they made a mistake and it was literally 8" or more to small.  When we tried to have it fixed they claimed it was not there fault and I would have to buy a new one.  Long story short my dream dress that my Dad bought me is sitting in my closet and i cant wear it, so my FI and I  went out and found me a different dress that i could afford and fits but i hate.  But its only a dress i will survive.

In May my Mom who is a cancer survivor fell down 3 flights of stairs and broke her femur, wrist, foot, dislocated her shoulder, and crushed her "good" hip (the other was replaced 5 years ago).  Apparently after chemo a side effect can be brittle bones or so they told us.  She cant work and goes in to get her hip replaced in 2 weeks.  Since that has happened we have been supporting her financialy (my parents are divorced) and what little we were able to put away has come to a halt.   As if that wasnt enough Monday we received a call from the bank and they asked us if we had made any major purchases from our account in the last few weeks.  When we said no they informed us that someone got our information and cleaned out the wedding account.  EVERYTHING IS GONE!!!  The bank told us that since it wasnt a "significant amount of money (under 5 grand), and it was done over a course of time, there is nothing they can do"  There is no way to track that, I have to file a dispute with each company that items were purchased from and prove that we dont have them or didnt purchase them.  No good news from that yet so im sure we all know thats not going to go anywhere.  I am sorry if i sound a little hostle im usually not but at this point im about one more catastrophe from a new coat and a padded room.

We are receiving no outside help finacially with the wedding from either of our families as explained above my side is clearly in no position to help us and my FI unfortuanly had a falling out with his family almost a year ago and they dont speak to each other.  HOWEVER I am lucky enough to come from a long line of crafty females, and with the help of my BM's we are able to save a ton of money making items for the wedding, our colors are black and silver, we are doing a very cool art deco/old hollywood theme using mirrors, candles, lots of bling and sparkle, and of course peacock feathers.  I have everything for myself except shoes I wear a size 6.5 to a 7 depending on the shoe.  I would love to have blue sequin shoes but at this point i dont have the room or the right to be picky.  We would really appreciate anything you feel you could give or any advice or suggestions.

Thank you so much for listening/reading and in advance for anything you can do.

Kalleco :)

ps. I am sorry for the spelling on some of this stuff not usually on of my high points.

hello all.
my name is ariel brown. im from a small town in louisiana and im planning my wedding. we have set a date of january 19th 2013. i want it to be traditional and we were only planning to invite our close relatives who would be hurt if they werent invited and it turns out there are now 100 guest on our list ( so much for a small wedding) our budget for our wedding is way smaller than i had imagined because we are currently trying to build a house. my fiance is a wonderful man. his name is kent. he works for borden milk company he is supervisor at the warehouse. and i am a stay at home mom. i spend all my time taking care of my now 14 month old daughter. the colors i have chosen for the wedding are white and pool blue. i would love to have a ball gown style wedding dress. ( womens size 14 ) (shoes size 8 and a half wide) our flowers for our wedding will all have to be fake because my fiance is allergic to pollen:) i dont have a theme really picked out for our wedding. i just know i want it to be traditional and beautiful with the colors chosen. thanks for reading my story:)

Hello Brides!

Here is our story! I met my fianc? about four years ago while vacationing. I was a single mom and he was an active duty Marine. We dated three years long distance while I was in Texas finishing school and he was stationed in Arizona. We survived 3 years of that including one deployment! He finally got out of the Marine Corps and moved in with my son and Me in Oct of 2011. He has been the best step dad to my son. He proposed in December 2011. Due to the economy and the job force we are financially strapped. My family is paying for most of the wedding stuff but there are a few items I still need. And, I fully plan on paying it forward after our wedding! Some things I'm looking for are the torsolette long line bra. And unique stand out shoes! Thanks!

Wedding Date: August 25, 2012
Theme:Shabby chic/Vintage
Colors: Purple/Green/White
Shoe Size: 7
Bra Size: 34D
