PROJECT BRIDAL SWAP! ! ! !

PROJECT BRIDAL SWAP!

The ladies of PW have some amazing shoes, veils, and accesories.  Some of them bought too much for the big day and want to share!  They are looking to gift their new or like-new shoes, veils, and accesories to brides in need who may not otherwise be able to buy or wear them.

To participate, there are a few rules!

If you need a bridal item

  • Post your story here in this thread!  Tell us about your wedding, your fiance, and why you need and or would love an item gifted to you by a fellow PW bride!  Please include your shoe size/dress size as applicable, as well as give us a general idea of your overal style and theme!  Feel free to post photos.
  • Please post your wedding date!
  • Be prepared to cover the cost of shipping
  • If a member has something that may work for you, they will contact you privately via PM
  • If you are gifted an item, please make sure to post photos of the item in action at your fittings and wedding!

If you would like to donate a bridal item

  • Items should be a modern bridal style and in new or like-new condition
  • You would be gifting the item to the member and will not get it back
  • The member will pay shipping
  • You get to read through their stories in this thread and decide if you want to contact one of them!  If a members post really speaks to you, and you have something you think they may love and enjoy, send them a PM and include estimated shipping costs.
  • You may also post your item in this thread, but be prepared for a LOT of PM's from brides who want it

RULES:

  • Please be honest
  • PW is not responsible for lost or damaged goods, or failure to deliver
  • I recommend payment of shipping costs be done via Paypal
  •  If you were gifted something, please consider re-gifting it after your wedding!

Hi all,
My name is heather. I am a 31 yr old mother of three. I was young and unprepared when I had my twin daughters, who are now 11 yrs old. The father decided he didn't want to bond with his daughters and has barely been a part of their lives. Sad, but it led me down a better path. I met my fianc? when my girls were two years old, they have been calling him dad since age 5. He is the best partner and father I could ever ask for. He teaches our kids things I never could, has a great work ethic, and is so loving to all of us. I have tried to plan a wedding more than a few times but the money always holds us back. Since we are older than the typical couple and have already established our family, it seems inappropriate to ask for help with the wedding. Every dollar we make goes to bills, food, or activities for our three kids. We are not on the school lunch program or food stamps like some people might suggest. I don't think we would qualify anyway. We are not poor, but yet we are living paycheck to paycheck. It seems that we will not be able to avoid asking for help with our wedding. This is fine because my parents are willing to help with the cost. I just don't feel right taking their money. They aren't wealthy people and they help us enough already. If anyone would like to donate small things, like shoes or whatever comes to mind...just message me and we can discuss!
I am a size 8 shoe, size 34a bra, wear a size 6 in street clothes. My daughters will be a size 12 for the wedding, which will be in April. Our son will be age 7, but wears 2 sizes bigger than his age...I am so excited to finally show our children our commitment and be married (with them as our jr. bridesmaids and our son as the ring bearer). Sure, they know we love each other, but they need to know we will be together forever.
Our wedding has a rustic/antique theme with lavender and ivory.
Thank you!!
Heather

HEY LADIES!!! I recently bought a necklace for my wedding day (124 days to go!) from Etsy and I just do not like it. It will not go with my overall wedding day look. But the Etsy shop owner refuses to take it back and refund my money! It was a $70 necklace so I am really disappointed and even more mad that I am out $70!

Anyway...if anyone could trade me a single pearl dropped necklace for necklace I am offering, that would be fantastic! ♥ I know that's a really specific request but that is what I am looking for and what I should've originally bought (because it was what I originally wanted).

What I have (am offering)...

What I am wanting (am looking for)...

Hey ladies,

My name is Angela and my fiancé's name is Julian. We've been together for 4 years now and had planned to get married on our fifth year anniversary July 18, 2014. We met in college and fell madly and passionately in love. We are planning a Glam Rock ( punk rock concert meets Hollywood glam) wedding but as of lately it doesn't seem like we'll be able to make our dreams come true. My fiancé and I have experienced several devastating life changes one after another and not sure if we'll be able to recover and make our day happen. After coming home from college for summer break not even home for a month my mother who was ill suffering from kidney failure passed away and it shattered my world. Because she had just gotten a new life insurance policy and there wasn't enough money for her burial arrangements we pretty much paid out of pocket with savings and our wedding fund. After that blow due to the economy both my fiance and Dad were laid off from their jobs and I couldn't afford to go back to school in San Francisco and started looking for work myself. My dad and fiancé have been lucky to find jobs but nothing but a little bit more than minimum wage. I haven't been so lucky and things have been hard financially.  With our monthly bills piling up and now medical bills after both my dad and I were in the hospital it's been even harder and we're just trying to hang in there. We haven't been able to allocate anything towards the wedding and not sure at this point if it will happen anymore. I know there are other possibilities to get marry being a courthouse ceremony and all it's just for me that wouldn't be the right way to do it. I want our family and friends there to witness our special moment and share our love with them. I know I'm not the only bride struggling to make her dream day a reality I'm just hoping there's some help for me through this hard time and I can pass the support and blessings I have been given on to others as they were to me.  So if there are any brides out there who can help with the things I need and wouldn't mind please contact me with what you can. I would really appreciate it. Thanks for reading this and in advance for your help.

I am in need of:

Pink Real Touch Flowers
 peonies, roses, hydrangeas, orchids

3" White Floating Candles

Pink Black Card Box

Size 22/24 wedding dress

Fuchsia Hot Pink napkins

Baroque frames

I know that a lot of you ladies can't afford to spend much- and I totally get that, as a struggling bride myself! There is this website where brides are selling their used items from decor to wedding dresses! Most prices are cheaper than what you would spend elsewhere. Check it out (:

I'll post my story. I am 24 years old, and my fiance is 24 as well. We have been together for a little over 2 years, and this past December 16th, we welcomed a beautiful daughter into our lives. My fiance actually proposed using our daughter and writing on a plain white onsie "will you marry my daddy", and he was on one knee in our hallway. After I found out I was pregnant (which was planned) my fiance lost his very good paying job, and now works at Walmart as a supervisor. After having our daughter, my job did not have hours for me to go back to, so I haven't worked in almost 4 months. I am currently working on possibly going back to work at the restaurant I worked at previously, and helping my fiances mom start her business, which she will allow me to bring my daughter, and do some of the work from home, which will be amazing, if it ever gets going. I just graduated from College, but they messed some things up with my internships which means I have not gotte n my official diploma. Since my fiance lost the good paying job, we got lucky enough that my Grandfather was able to talk to his brother and sister, and allow us to rent my Great-Grandmothers house from them since it had not sold being on the market. We want to buy the house eventually, and are hoping to eventually work it out, but with finances right now, it's not possible.

I don't have many plans set right now for the wedding, we are thinking a church ceremony in our town, and then renting a tent and doing a backyard reception (with permission from my Grandfather). Our colors are purple and turquoise, and I know the dress I am thinking I will get is strapless. I'm thinking I would like a elbow length veil with or some kind of crystals or something on it. Any help or even advice would be greatly appreciated.
