PROJECT BRIDAL SWAP! ! ! !

PROJECT BRIDAL SWAP!

The ladies of PW have some amazing shoes, veils, and accesories.  Some of them bought too much for the big day and want to share!  They are looking to gift their new or like-new shoes, veils, and accesories to brides in need who may not otherwise be able to buy or wear them.

To participate, there are a few rules!

If you need a bridal item

  • Post your story here in this thread!  Tell us about your wedding, your fiance, and why you need and or would love an item gifted to you by a fellow PW bride!  Please include your shoe size/dress size as applicable, as well as give us a general idea of your overal style and theme!  Feel free to post photos.
  • Please post your wedding date!
  • Be prepared to cover the cost of shipping
  • If a member has something that may work for you, they will contact you privately via PM
  • If you are gifted an item, please make sure to post photos of the item in action at your fittings and wedding!

If you would like to donate a bridal item

  • Items should be a modern bridal style and in new or like-new condition
  • You would be gifting the item to the member and will not get it back
  • The member will pay shipping
  • You get to read through their stories in this thread and decide if you want to contact one of them!  If a members post really speaks to you, and you have something you think they may love and enjoy, send them a PM and include estimated shipping costs.
  • You may also post your item in this thread, but be prepared for a LOT of PM's from brides who want it

RULES:

  • Please be honest
  • PW is not responsible for lost or damaged goods, or failure to deliver
  • I recommend payment of shipping costs be done via Paypal
  •  If you were gifted something, please consider re-gifting it after your wedding!

Ok. I'll add my story!

FI and I are graduating University this year, so we don't have alot of money as you can imagine. He's working 40+ hours a week at 3 different jobs in order to pay for his living arrangements and to pay off the rest of his school bill (2k). I am somewhat unemployed (I just got a job at a tutoring company- however, I won't be in town much longer so they said they won't be pairing me with too many students). My father was laid off from his Chevy Chase Bank job (after 16 years of working for them -_-) and is now making less than half of what he made before. My mother's childcare business isn't doing to well right now either. However, they are doing their best to give us a beautiful wedding. She understands how important it is to make sure that I'm happy about it and have no regrets. I appreciate EVERYTHING that they are doing for me, and feel so very bad that I'm another added burden on their finances right now. On the other hand, FI's parents have not really helped much. They're paying for the RD and HM, but keep pushing us off. We're trying to plan a modern, glam wedding on a very limited budget. Whatever you ladies can offer will be much appreciated and one less thing that we have to pay for. Our colors are ivory and eggplant/purples. I'm still in need of a ivory chapel length and an elbow length veil. Any accessories (crystal headband, something blue) for the dress would be great. I'm also looking for a bling brooch for my dress (they were trying to charge me $100 for one at AA!) I'm a size 8 and a 9.5 in shoes. I'm trying to make the cocktail area very chic and am looking for uplights and crystal strands. Anything bling! Wedding is June 19, 2011

BTW I like this thread. Thanks guys.

A little bit about us. I am Lori, mother of 3, between 20 and 15 also grandmother to one almost 3 year old girl

I work in health care and I also do photography, but I have been unemployed since December because of a back and shoulder injury.

Ed is my fiancée he is a father of 3 between 18 and 10 He is an environmental consultant who pays almost half of every pay cheque for child support.  So financees are tight.

We met online, we had the idea we would just be friends, somewhere along the line we fell in love.

Ed is wonderful; he lets me complain and doesn’t judge. He is compassionate and kind. We love each other’s children. He son made a comment last year that we belong together we feel that way too.

We have no Plan B, we have done marriage and divorce before and we are going to make it work.  We do not live together but he views his house as "our" house and asks me on weekends when I can swing it to go see him when I am coming "home".

Two of our sons will graduate in June (different towns, graduations on the same day)

I am going for a MRI on Friday, can't come soon enough as the past few days I have been in alot of pain.

We are planning a backyard wedding and if anyone had anything they wanted to donate like paper laterns or something for decorations, also would love silver shoes in size 7 (heels) if anyone has some they no  longer want.

I am planning on re-donating after our wedding. I also posted a give away of stuff I had when I was engaged before.  2 dresses never worn.

Have a great day.

Lori

Too bad we didn't have a central spot to just put our giveaways on.  Oh I have a crystal and ruby hair comb that I bought that doesn't go with my dress as I changed colours.

Any takers?  Just PM me.

Now that I no longer have a veil I'm looking for a white birdcage veil if anyone has one:

My story is one that is simple:

Girl Meet Boy who has a little girl! All three of us fall in love and decide that we should get married to make things official. We start planning a wedding for the three of us but the three of us get lost along the way. In order to find themselves again they move their wedding to Vegas!

We are really excited to move forward despite other people's attempts at ruining our wedding. We are so happy and can't wait to be a family.

My Story

Hi my name is Ashley my FI is Fredrik we are been together since high school. Fredrik and I have been thou so much together. In 2006 my father pasted away and left me some money for my wedding. (The only good thing he ever done for me) Not even a year later my mom became very sick. Her doctor told us that she has two brain tumors. So we had a live in the hospital for about 2 to 3 month while my mom recovered from her first sugary. Mean while we lost everything we own in a fire. And I use the money my father give me the replace some of the things we lost. (Mom is fine now thank God) Now a few years later Fredrik ask me to marry him. YAY!!! But now I don't have the money to have our wedding=( But he said when the time comes we will save and it will be okay. Well that time as come and I guess it hard to save when you have bills and two kids (my  nephews live with us) But sadly as of the 15th I lost my job. My FI still works at Best Buy thank God. A little about my FI Fredrik is a great man he works to take care of me and my nephews. When I lost my job I talked to him about postponing our wedding and he said "NO" he wants us to try to make our wedding work. Fredrik would give me the World if he could but all I want is him. He want us (well Me) to have a great wedding. And I don't want him to feel bad if we can't have our dream wedding. And yes I'm willing to change the wedding. (Don't tell my FI) I only planed on buying things we are going to use in our home and I'm going to be the DIY Queen after my wedding is said and done.

Now to talk about the wedding my

Hi everyone,

My FI and I are both in school, and paying for the wedding ourselves.  My FI is in nursing, and I am a research student, currently looking at reproductive disfunction, and going to be working on cancer research in a few months. My parents live in Michigan, and for those of you who know the situation there, it's been really hard on them.  My dad was laid off from Ford a few years back, went back to school and became a therapist, only to have 2 employers go bankrupt and not pay him for quite a while.  They are barely staying above water, and there is no way I can ask them to help pay for any part of the wedding. My FI and I live out of state from both sets of parents, and from where the wedding is, so planning is even harder because we can only visit the venue once before the wedding to get everything finalized (every flight is money out of the wedding fund). Our wedding is 9-4-11 and our colors are cobalt and white/ivory/gold.  We're getting married in the church my FI grew up going to.  I saw this beautiful picture of a reception that just looked so elegant and amazing. It is what I dream of when I think of my wedding.  But, there is no way we can afford anything even remotely similar to this.  If anyone can gift any quantity of floating candle holders, white or aqua floating candles, votives, mirrors or clear glass vases I would be insanely appreciative.  I promise anything gifted to me will be gifted forward or donated to charity after the wedding to keep the positive energy and good will going!

Hi everyone My FI photo 2794817-1

I am also looking for a white cathedral length veil, pew bows or decorations, any great bridesmaid gifts (they are amazing and I would love to give them something special) and any great dresses for the rehearsal dinner.

Thank you all for considering to help me out.

Many thanks!

Erin

My story is on my bio. I'm on my phone or I would write it all again. FI and I are on a very limited budget. My family is helping out but they don't have a lot of money. Recently we have been flooded by unexpected financial burdens. Something is wrong with the electrical wiring in our house (at least it will cost is $600) our clutch went out in our car, and FI hast start repaying his student loans (BIG BOO) so anything little that we don't have to pay for would be so appreciated. I also plan on donating or giving everything used for my wedding to charity.
About our wedding:
I would call our wedding country shabby chic. We have no color palate because I feel country is kind of more random. Our big day is may 14 2011. So we are having a spring wedding. It's also an afternoon wedding, so it will be very casual.
What we need:
Ceremony decor. I have nothing, and with these expenses I don't think I can afford to get anything. I'm not a very picky bride if it for a with the over all country feel then that what I'm looking for.
Hair flower: my dress is a light ivory, no veil so I'm looking for a statement hair piece.
Reception dress. We are going out after our wedding with friends to some local bars. A cute sexy dress would be great. I'm a size 16 :/

I HAVE::: I have a bird cage veil that I won in a contest. PM me if your interested.
Thanks for lookin ladies :)

Well, here's my story :) FI and I met while I was getting my first degree. We hung out on and off for about a year before we made it official. We moved right after my graduation about 3 hrs away from both of our families so I could continue my education. It was a really hard decision to make but FI told me that if that's what I wanted to do then he would come with me. He left his job and moved with me because he knew I needed him :). Well, he got another full time job, but it really doesn't pay much. And I only work part time because of going to school. We live paycheck to paycheck and I actually have had to pull out extra money in school lones just to help us get by.

My parents are paying for most of the wedding, with FI's parents chipping in a bit too. My parents make decent money, but are by no means rich so they're doing what they can for me. I'm not complaining...so far I've been able to get almost everything I really wanted. Its just the extras that I can't justify asking my mom to pay for and I definitely don't have the extra money to pay for them myself.

So...on to my wedding! :)

I'm going for a casual, party atmosphere for the wedding. My colors are purple and orange with gold and silver accents. Date is Oct. 8, 2011

I already have my dress, veil, hair clip and jewelry. We got cp's from my now SIL, Mandy (as4968). My aunts are very crafty women and are putting together my table clothes and all of my flower arrangements and are painting some decor items for me as well.

I guess, all I'm really looking for are shoes for the day ( I want to wear flats) in ivory or one of my wedding colors; and clothes for my shower/bach party and such. I really want to get something really cute and fun for those but I really can't justifty spending the money for them. My shoe size is about an 8 1/2 and dress size about 6. Anything you ladies can help me with would be GREATLY appreciated.

Love this idea!! TIA!

Edit: I realized I also haven't purchased a garter. I'm not sure if anyone even has one they're willing to part with but if you do please let me know.

Well,

My story goes like this.

M and I fell in love February of 2009. We knew that we wanted to be married but waited until we felt it was appropriate (and others would accept our engagement) to decide to get married.

I love him to the moon and back- and have listened to his father tell him how he doesn't accept his marriage, because he isn't marrying an Indian woman. I have heard that we are both stupid to the world and too young to get married. Because we don't own a house, we won't make it in this world, that our future children will be on welfare-because of lack of success.

I do everything I can to please others and make sure people like me, the same goes with FIL.

I (and my family) don't see color.

We are having our formal ceremony and reception next month in April (NERVOUS). I am meeting his family (extended) for the first time. And as my big day quickly approaches, my feelings and thoughts of not being pretty, or thin, or wealthy like many of them- are starting to set in. MANY of my family members- including my brother who is supposed to walk me down the aisle has decided that he has other things to do. My father passed away when I was 15, and I will be making this trip down the aisle on my own. I want to look great doing it.

I want to look amazing on my wedding day. And I feel like I can't seem to achieve it. My dress had to get MAJORLY repaired (it just wasn't the BEST it could be) and even now, I don't feel like it's THE ONE.

If you read my story, thank you.

I would like to know if anyone out there has a white cathedral length veil or a bling like bridal sash to perk up my dress- if possible. I would be grateful :) and I once finished I will definitely be giving it to another bride that needs one just as much as I do.

Thanks.
