Provera Question?

For those of you are on Provera (or were on) what cycle day did you usually take it on?  This will be my first time on it but I am waiting on a call from my gyno regarding my biopsy results and then she was going to give me further instruction on when to start my Provera prescription.

Did you have any side effects from the medicine?  How long after you started taking it did you start your period?

TIA!

Hi! As you know from my other post, I have taken Provera twice.

First Time - I hadn't got a period in 4.5 months so my doc just said to start it the day she wrote the prescription. Side effects - I turned into a crazy person... so much so that I'm surprised I still have a husband! I would just start screaming over something so small and trivial and realize as I'm yelling that I'm not even sure what I'm yelling about but can't stop now, so I quickly think of something else to yell about! And I had calf stiffness during the last few days (of 10) and my calves were warm to touch. But it wasn't sharp pain so everything I read said not to be concerned, if its sharp pain it could be blood clots. I got my period on the 3rd day after I stopped taking the pills. But it only lasted for 24hrs and was VERY light.

Second Time - My doc said to take it again if I hadn't gotten my period on my own so at the beginning of March I started taking them (10 days again). I had no side effects this time - my acupuncturist (who I started seeing in January) said it could have been due to the weekly acu treatments I was getting. My period started on the 4th day (today).

Hope this help you!
