Everything you described in your wedding is exactly how i picture mine!! Well really really close! I love the idea of the park and the yurts afterwards! You've given me soo many ideas! We too are on a tight budget. Thank you so much for posting this!! You've been a great inspiration for our big day!

Hooray for budget brides. We're also doing a park for our venue, and we're saving a bundle! Plus it's beautiful, we're looking forward to pictures by the river and a ceremony under the trees. We can have it all while still being on a budget it just takes creativity. BTW I loved the boutonnières!

Amazing job! We are getting married at a Seattle Park too- Golden Gardens which saved us some money and I believe using Larry's Smokehouse too- good find! I wanted to see who you are using for your photographer? Thanks!

I love this post. You did a great job of choosing what was most important to you, and creatively getting exactly what you need. As a photographer, I've done several wedding shoots state parks, and they always turn out beautiful and unique. Here's a shot in Monterey CA.

Great ideas on how to save on the wedding. However, I think a splurge on alcoholic beverages would be nice for the guests.

Alcohol doesn't need to be expensive. At my wedding of about 75 guests we're having a keg of beer from a local brewery and a frozen margarita machine. Total cost: about $400.

Great ideas!  I would highly recommend only hiring a photographer for four hours and saving more money.  My husband and I saved about $700 on our photographer.  We live in southern California, the Temecula area, and when I priced wedding photographers I was amazed at how much they charge.  But I know the photos will last a life time.  So one of my bridesmaids mentioned her sister's wedding photographer, Steve Gaglio.  Well, when I first contacted him, I let him know we were on a budget and doing our wedding in the back yard.  He asked to stop by our home so we could show him around.  He said that if we would allow him to use our wedding photos as a feature on his website, then he would give us a special rate of $500 for 4 hours plus a disc of 400+ hi res photos to print at Costco, or wherever we wanted.  What a deal, so we saved $700 over what any other wedding photographer wanted.  I pays to listen to friend's referrals!  Another friend put us in contact with a DJ, so that saved us too.  The most money we spent was on the vendors, but we loved our wedding, and our friends and family had a wonderful time too!
