I just promoted a post tbabian did awhile ago about her DIY kits to an article...not my work at all.

I love these as bridesmaid gifts. For myself...I am just tossing the things I think are essential into my bridal clutch and am not worrying about making an actual "kit."

I did something similar for my sisters wedding 5 years ago.  I went to a thrift store and got lucky and found enough bags for all the girls to have the same style bag and the brides bag was  a perfect reverse match to it.  I went to the dollar store and walmarts sample racks in pharmacy for all the different stuff to add in as well as folders with different print out stuff for all the girls to stay organized.  They all thought I was crazy when I handed it to them but they were so thankful to have them the day of.  Here is a good site for a list of the stuff I included and I think the total cost of 6 bags fully loaded was around $85.  But pick and choose what works best for the individuals also, you will all be together so you wont have to put say a hair brush in each bag. http://beautyaddict.blogspot.com/2008/04/how-to-build-ultimate-wedding-day.html

I am a mob and have been gathering things for this kit for a few weeks now. I was not inspired for this project in any way until stumbling upon your post and now I am stoked! I can't wait to proceed with finding a bag and personalizing it and the contents for our daughter's big day! Thank you so so much!!

I am all for this kit.

I have always had one of those emergency sewing kits from a hotel from like 15 years ago in my purse and I just refill it as I use it. And this is just a really big version of that!

  • Another tip - Clear Nailpolish to stop a run in stockings

AND

  • Gaffers Tape. It can be used to hold up a bustle and hold down a veil on windy days without damage to MOST fabrics! Your Photographer may have this in their bag of goodies.
