haha...I knew that first one would get me. Our date is September 13th, but we started dating on that day and I don't have any problems with the number 13! I actually know people who that is their lucky/favorite number. Oh well, I guess we aren't very superstitious, just love each other and want to get married :). Plus FI always likes to tell people that this way he only has one day to remember!
I'm surprised Valentine's Day isn't on there. We thought about getting married that day until we realized how much flowers were going to cost us! Madness!
We got married the Sunday before Labor Day, and I thought it was a great choice actually, we even had a Labor Day BBQ the next day since everyone was in town alerady! Plus since the wedding was a Sunday- we saved money left in right!
~ HMM :)
We are getting married on January 3rd. Some people won't be able to make it. But it's okay. We figure the most important people will be there. If its not one thing, it's another. You cannot plan your wedding day around everyone else!
I'm getting married on my old boyfriend's birthday...FI doesn't know. It was the date that worked best!!!
We are getting married Mothers Day weekend.... Hope it doesn't effect our guest count, but most of our guest live within 20 minutes of the location....
ha! we thought about getting married april fools, and trick everyone that we were going to call of the wedding.....ha ha ha. BUT I would never go through with that..lol.
We chose a double-whammy...opening weekend of NCAA football and Labor Day weekend. To compensate we've planned the rehearsal dinner at STATS, a chic sports bar (oxymoron, anyone?) on the rooftop deck and will be getting married on Sunday. That way our wedding is in the middle of the break and folks can work their way home on Monday.
I'm a 4th of July bride and so far our response has been positive with guests being able to make it, many have mentioned that they thought it was a good idea so that they wouldn't have to really book much time off as most people have to come in from elsewhere.....However, our wedding is taking place in Las Vegas and I think most people are willing to sacrifice one year's 4th of July in their hometown in exchange for one in Vegas so that may be why ;)
We are planing our wedding our wedding on the 23rd of May Memorial Weekend. All of our family and close friends have all been very supportive. I dont think it would matter on the day that you chose it depends on whether you have 2 good families and friends that stand behind you to celebrate your big day.
My ex-husband and his current wife were married 3 years ago on september 11. She claims they "forgot" about it being "that day" We've all said what were you thinking!
I too am a memorial day weekend bride. May 23rd, but it was the only day my venue of choice was open unless I wanted to chance rainy weather or blistering heat. I actually think that it is going to help many of our out of town guests make it.
My Memorial Day has been booked! It's actually a pretty good day for most people trying to get work off for travel.
I am a May 22nd bride. It will be great for my family who can find the time to get off work and the kids to get out of school. Also, it was the only day open for the venue I wanted. If you're family can make it . . . it's the way to go!!!
I am getting married on September 11. I figure why leave only bad memories of that day! My father passed away last September and our theme is New Beginnings. So I think it's perfect for us. Plus, my fiance will have no excuse for forgetting our anniversary!
Interestingly enough...I too am a May 22nd bride, however we are Canadian, but we chose this day to make it convienient for our relatives in California. So I think it's okay whatever day you choose - those who are important will be there rain or shine!
We are Sept 13 too... and our rehearsal dinner was on Sept 11... everything went perfect!
I'm getting married on April 25...it seemed like a completely hassle free time of year for most people, but then my dad (an accountant) complained that it's he last weekend before the income tax deadline! Honestly, I don't think everyone will EVER be happy about the date you choose.
Labor Day weekend seemed perfect for us and our guests as it is a long weekend and our wedding is on a Sunday. The long weekend affords our mostly out of town guests the opportunity to enjoy the wedding without having to worry about missing another day of work since they will have the Monday off anyways!
