Really great article -- a big display of candles is also a great idea. Shop the dollar store for votives and unique vases, or after Christmas many stores have candles on clearance.

Really great article a photo 1314655-1

Great article.  I'm using tall cylinders filed halfway with split peas and pillar candle and a very short (nearly flat) cylinder filled with split peas and topped off with green fuji mums.  very easy and very green.  My wedding colors are chartruese and chocolate brown.

Great article! If I can arrange it (I don't see how I couldn't) I'd like to do my centrepieces as my table numbers.  Instead of table "2", our guests will sit at "coconut", "mango", "banana", etc.  I'll have a bowl/large palm leaf to contain a collection of each fruit at each table. :)

Love it!

I was thinking for mine to have a clear glass bowl filled half way with water with different shapes of floating candles and other floating things like that!

I'm planning to probably do clear, cylinder shaped 'vases'. Some filled with water and silk flowers, others with floating candles and then in the center, more of a square shaped vase filled with glass beads and a few flowers to match our wedding colors.

I know I want flowers as the center peices. My colors are red, black, and white. I am so stumped on how to do this and make it look simple and nice.

Could someone please send me some ideas for centerpeices. I do want roses and they should be red, and white, maybe a little pink for a small pop of color. My aunt is making the center peices, I just need to show her some pics of what it is I have in mind.

Great ideas! I just love (on ebay) the goregous hanging candle holders with crystals hanging off of them - like a mini chandelier!!! How would I incorporate flowers too though - petals on the tables? I am new here and love it so far, but need MAJOR  HELP with planning my small wedding from any of you. Just to give you an idea of how small; my fiance said $5,000.00 was way too much for us to spend on our wedding O M G !!!!!!! I wanted to just wring his NECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What now?

troycensam: go to this website's "photos" section and search under "red"... you'll find thousands of pictures with a black and white and red theme, and some ideas for great centerpieces to show your aunt.

mindygail - $5,000? I have been given budget of £2,000 - when you think the church is costing £500 and my dress (I HAD to have it!!) cost £800 looks like we will be have a pizza hut all you can eat buffet lol. Good luck with the decorations and I am sure you will have the wedding of your dreams even on a budget as long as you have the right man at your side it doesn't get much better than that. I have been suprised at my honest approach with my friends saying that we are working with a very low budget how many of my friends have contacts i.e chocolate suppliers for the favours, photographer friends, relatives who do flowers my brother has even said that instead of a gift he will hire us a mercedes for the day and drive us to the church and reception as we couldn't afford a posh car. Ask about you may be pleasantly suprised. Good luck.
